Thanks for this tip! It worked, in as much as bumping the Scenery Quality slider all the way up meant that the pilot displays properly - so long as the camera point is placed close enough to the loco. As you move back it gradually fades back to black.

Just for the record, it seems to load the nmc texture at anything below maximum Quality.

I think must be an issue with my graphics driver not being able to render this specific bit of fine detail at a distance - it's like the red/blue/yellow elements of the pilot are just merging into black. I don't understand why the Winter textures (or the original Jupiter textures, or the UP119/Ten-Wheeler pilots) don't have this problem but it's clearly at my end!

Thank you for your help.

I made a patch for the Jupiter repaints by trainboi which has been posted to the file library today.

This patch updates the repaints to the state of May 2019:

- The names and numbers of the locos and tenders have been corrected so that they get the right names and numbers when you place them in the scenario editor.
- The virtual airbrakes that have been added to all 1869 locos, to stop uncoupled coaches from running away on grades, is working now also in the repaints.
- Some textures like the brass have been updated to the currend ones of the Jupiter package.
- The name 'Red Fox' will now be correctly displayed on the cab.
- A corruped texture at 'Gazelle', that crashes the sim at lower graphic settings, has been fixed.
- The texture of the pilots has been fixed.
- This package also includes some quick drive consists. The consists of the UPRR locos require coaches from UP119 (available on steam)
