I think the yellow looks kinda neat actually. But, I tend to appreciate and can much enjoy "fictional" or "non-prototypical" stuff in RailWorks.

Of course not everyone will like something different from the norm (heck, I've taken a bit of flack from some of the things I've done in my route & scenario projects).
I guess the main thing is to experiment a bit and have fun with your projects. Keep at it.

There are at least 3 of us here from GA. I live just down the road from the site owner Hawk. I wonder if there is any one else from down here hanging out on this forum?

Well, that looks kinda cool and I don't even usually like the Euro look. I do think that adding more paint to make it MORE different (sic) than the orig BB will be a good thing. With some works, finding that balance between "not different enough" and "too different" is the key to a cool and unique result (and seldom comes on the first try, darn-it-all).

A couple of tech notes: that link doesn't work for me; instead I had to link to your home page then to the BB page. Also, not that I know much about repainting power/rolling stock, but I notice that most of the guys keep the repaint in the original Developer's folder which drastically reduces the download file size. Maybe that doesn't apply to steamers, though, I wouldn't know.

And, personally, I would post a small screenshot just below your Download and Readme links of that Filesend download page with a BIG RED ARROW pointing out to folks which is the right "Download" link to click. (grrr, I'd like to kick the person that invented those "trick" download pages.... even if something's free, some things are just wrong, aren't they?!)

Looking forward to your next release.

Tori

To back up what Tori said, here's what I get when I click on the link to the Big Boy page in your sig.

Not wanting to be a wet blanket here, but I am assuming you have official permission to release the repaint? Paul at IHH is very protective of his work - there was a major brew up just after it came out regarding a smoke mod and the file had to be pulled. If you read the sticky over at UKTS, legal action has been threatened for even discussing his work.

I would not like to see anybody here on the wrong end of Paul (who does some beautiful work) or a legal issue over a unintended breach of copyright, what ever the intention

Just putting this out there...

!*cheers*!

I don't know the whole scoop... but, didn't IHH now give rights to the Big Boy over to RSC?
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=1833908

For a while the Big Boy was taken out of distribution as it was going through this transition of ownership.

I could be wrong, and maybe I'll look up some references about it later, but I can't see a re-paint being that much of an issue really as the original Big Boy would need to be owned for it to work anyways.
But yeah, better safe than sorry I guess.

Maybe contact RSC / RailWorks Support and see what they have to say and if they give you permission to do re-paints if they "own" the Big Boy now.

I contacted IHH and gave me their permission.....I contact RSC I still dont have their response for other locomotive like gp9, gp40, F7 and others. Alot of people on facebook told me that you don't need permission from RSC for repaints. IDK. I just want to be on the safe side. I'm also doing repaints from Gtrax as well...I too got their permission to repaint their locomotive. I have so much work to do.

WAIT!!!!! You know this Dude name Paul Jackson? He's the president of Rail Simulator!!!! !*YAAA*!. I may want to contact him for the repaints. Yes thats what I'll do.

5min later....
Okay I sent an message to him to ask his permission to repaint the locomotives. i should be able to get it pretty soon. Its been 3 weeks since I haven't got a message from Rail Simulator employees !*not-ok*!

Okay, cool, you should be fine for doing re-paints of it then.
IHH also gave over the Challenger (I guess you could say the little-brother of the Big Boy) ownership the RSC/RSDL a while back, so I imagine that's basically the same for the Big Boy now too:
