I hope adding winter textures to these buildings won't be a problem, did this area get snow or ice?

As well, a new building for the route.

Nice! This will fit in well with the overall look of the other buildings on the route.

To add winter textures, you'll need to do two things:

1. Make copies of the building's textures and call the by the same name but with _Wi on the end. For example, if you have MyBuilding.ace, you also need MyBuilding_Wi.ace. A simple way to texture this is to add a layer of fine snow specks covering the entire texture. If you want it to look even better, you have to make the snow thicker on the the parts that are mapped to horizontal surfaces of the building, where the snow would accumulate.

2. To ensure that the game does actually load up the _Wi texture when the season is set to winter, select a hidden poly somewhere on the model (I usually put one below ground level or inside the building) and texture it explicitly with any small part of the _Wi texture. That makes sure that the model, once it's exported, does contain a reference to the _Wi texture, forcing TS to load it into memory.

These buildings actually already have winter textures, I was just wondering if the route did indeed have snow, or if it was usually too hot to have snow.

Thanks for the heads up Mike... !!*ok*!!

Okay...I have this issue, and it appeared on both installs I did. Maybe I have a bad download.. !*don-know!*
Can somebody please check and see if it is only me or it is a bug?

Thanks in advance.

It's incorrectly laid track. I think it might be caused in part by the changes in the gradient from 1.8% t0 1.7% to 1.6% and back again to 1.8%, all in a very short distance. I always make sure that the gradient is constant over the entire length of a switch and a length of track immediately before and after the switch. It's also because of trying to squeeze the 3-way switch into too small a space. I was able to fix it in my copy of the route by re-laying it further along.

That's a very strange problem.
Every day I make a change on the route, I make a zip backup of the route folder. I'm currently at revision 53, the beta is based on rev. 52.

Yes, the track is defective in the beta but in the previous rev 52 it isn't and at this time I was only working in the Laramie area and haven't done anything at Tie Siding !**conf**!

At least it could be easily fixed by a simple split and reweld.

The gradient changes are easy to explain. The lengh of the track is simply longer at the siding compared to the mainline so the gradient is a bit lower. Maybe I'll rework this area again till the final stage one release. But at the moment I'm a bit busy and don't have so much time like last week *!sad!*

I've included the new buildings from jpetersjr. They're looking good in the sim :D

Until the station building is finished, it'll be replaced by one from the Clear Creek route.

Looks great!

The only thing I'm not too sure about are the 1950's people. Maybe someday I'll find time to make a few more era-appropriate static characters (3DC can't do animated people - it doesn't export skindiffuse.fx).

These people are from the clear creek platforms because the one that's included in the cheyenne route seems to be buggy.
I think it tries to draw people who doesn't exist but make graphic glitches instead (you can see these glitches walking)

I have no idea why this doesn't happen in Cheyenne but if you check the platforms at Sherman or Bufford, you'll see a mess of these blue pins I've made to prevent the glitchy people from spawning

I wonder if it's because of those gate entry/exit things you have on your platforms? I didn't put them on mine, because I wasn't going to spawn any moving characters.

I put them only at Red Buttes and Laramie together with the CC platforms. All the CC stuff is only between Sherman and Laramie and in the beta the platform at Sherman is still the one included in the route without any entry/exit things. I just replaced it today.

Here's a screenshot at Buford I've sent you over two month ago showing the problem. The only thing that I didn't know at this time was, that these glitches had something to do with the (non existent) passengers
