Pretty nice.... I mean, I could rivet count but what’s the purpose.... I’m just glad to have a recent GP40-2.

Everything works, it’s eazy to drive, brakes are a bit iffy, all switches and leavers work except hud light switch doesn’t seem to work, but in-cab does.... no windows or doors as previously reported

Each loco has 3 versions, so for WP, it’s:

WP C&D (Cold & Dark)(there is a short startup procedure)
WP Running
WP Running ND

I’ll probably want some repaints of this in the future....

For really five bucks per loco it’s a deal. Horn needs help but I’m sure we can come up with something as horny as this group is.

Buzz, language !*roll-laugh*!

Bought the pack too, as it’s good value for money. Hope to give the loco’s a spin this weekend.

The real question is how does it compare to VRC's and RRMods GP40-2s?

After running all three scenarios included I noticed that in two scenarios that each unlocked an additional scenario. However, the .ap only has 3 scenarios. Also noticed that the UP SW 10 was included. Were there only 3 scenarios or were there supposed to be 5 scenarios? As far as I could tell there were no UP engines used in included scenarios. Error or buy design on number of scenarios?

Well for starters to compare to the RRMods you can re-paint them without going to jail,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*! My only real complaint so far is that you can't open the windows or doors.

Have these advanced features of opening doors and windows, scripted controllers, etc. been made an exclusive to the Pro range that sell at higher prices?

I'd rather have a universal model in several hardware variations that can be repainted in even more road names than a Pro model that is limited to one paint scheme and road name alone.

It is also good to see that good ol' Train Simulator is still catered for. And there are still so many locomotives unavailable that would attract buyers and generate sales for various developers.

Yet they made something already done by 3 different developers lol.

Indeed they did. But VRC's are unavailable and RRMods are too restricted. RRMods still have DRGW and WP specific locomotives in their Trainz catalog, but I doubt these will get converted to TS and offered at full retail price when these road names have been catered for in this pack.

Who knows there still might be a few detail and paint variations coming through the Marketplace, SP's with proper headlight cluster, etc.

I just put the Searchlight RS3K horn on the GP40-2. That rocks!

Don't underestimate just how important workshop compatibility is these days. That seems to be the main place to get quality freeware scenarios now, and the only GP40 that could be used in workshop scenarios up until now was the Portland Terminal one, which wasn't exactly impressive. So these new geeps have a huge added value that the others didn't.

There's also the NJT GP40PH-2 but that is a passenger loco.

It's a but surprising that the CSX and NS versions lack air-con roofs; especially given that the AC units are on the CSX TSW version.
