Assets for Fort Kent to Eagle Lake.

Unread postby JohnT » Sat Nov 04, 2017 8:08 pm

Hi all,
on browsing came across some reskins for SD40-2Cn locos. The instructions as they are are as below:-

This is the SD40-2Cn Package.
You must own the Fort Kent to Eagle Lake
Route Addon installed by Steam.
This you get here : http://store.steampowered.com/app/24055/
Please copy the Assets Folder in the RailWorks Homedirectory.
Then copy the sd40_2_CN.GEOPCDX and the sd40-2_CN_cab.GEOPCDX
from Default Folder in the CN-GTW , CN-IC and the five IC Folder.

Have Fun!

Regards Michael Zimmer (bobbel66).

I don't have a sd40_2_CN folder in my RSC assets, but do have SD40BnPack02/BnsfPack01/Cn - Hn - Sf - Wn - pack01/UnitedWay.
Thinking that the SD40-2Cn was an asset of FK to EL I opened my archived version of the original All Aboard version zip. But the Assets within that zip do not contain any locos.
So out of curiosity, where is the SD40-2Cn loco to be found?

Thanks Regards JohnT

I have this: Assets/RSC/SD40CnPack01

Bought the pack a long time ago, don't remember it having anything to do with the Fort Kent route.

Hi,
Yes I too have that version, see above, SD40BnPack02/BnsfPack01/Cn - Hn - Sf - Wn - pack01.
The one I'm attempting to find is in a folder SD40_2_CN.

It's an old model John, it was obtainable many years ago on Steam, along with a SD40-2 CN Wide Nose, now, that is still available to buy, but, the CN SD40-2 was taken down, I can't remember why now, I have a sneaky feeling that it has since been bundled in with a route in the last year, or, so, and it would likely now be included in that particular route assets folder anyway, and not in a RSC folder any more, but, I can't remember which layout now, maybe one of our resident experts on here can help out, sorry to disappoint, most of what Michael Zimmer did for the community, along with a few other reskinners, utilised that alias model back in the 2009 era when we had suitable models for repainting, but, as that model isn't directly on sale any more unsure what folks can do now.

Hi Steve,
thanks for the info, would seem to be another lost cause. But of academic interest none the less.

It is in the SD40CnPack01 if you have it, which I do.

Hi Trev,
yes I do have the SD40CnPack01 and have tried installing these reskins into that pack. But whether successive updates via Railworks has altered something cannot get these models to show with either RWTools or using the build menu.I'm beginning to think the most relevant detail here is SD40-2 Cn version, which as pointed out above is no longer available.
Rapidly becoming a bridge too far exercise.
Thanks for the interest and help all.

Hi Trev,
I think it came from RWAmerica. But Google CA_CN_SD40-2_IC_MZ.7z and CA_BCR_C44-9W_MZ.7z or PM me and I'll let you have copies.

What puzzles me the most is Michael Zimmer's reference to obtaining the Fort Kent to Eagle Lake route Add-on, as I've never known Rich Garber to build any locomotives for his routes, and I have them all, and they are routes ONLY, and there is nothing on the Steam page for that route to suggest that DTG have bundled in any SD40 type locos with it, it's all very strange.

His instructions make no sense. These re-paint are using the RSC SD40CNPacl01 Geo and work just fine with that.
