I had this sound issue after adding a additional unit needed with the new physics. Hit F2 quit the game and restarted and then the sound was all good. Don't know if this helps or not. NStrains PM coming your way later.

Update 1.0.0.4 is now available.

This will enable you to place any locomotive supported by the pack as the lead engine and anything trailing behind (supported by any of our packs or not) will properly respond to Input from the lead locomotive.

However. If you place a locomotive which currently is not supported by any of our packs as the lead engine, any locomotive supported by any of our packs will not respond to throttle Input from the lead engine. This is because we use a fully scripted throttle simulation on our packs and any regular locomotive which currently is not supported by any of our packs does not come with the ability to "communicate" with our throttle script. So unfortunately you can't have best of both worlds.

It's one or the other.

Looking for some help.

I have the other packs, installed this one with no issues, loaded up a scenario using the default Kuju weathered unit, opened the asset editor to switch to a 3D weather and check off the new sounds. The scenario loads and I wait 3-5 seconds for the scripts to load as suggested in the manual. I have the sounds and the lights but the loco will not move. I've tried a couple other scenarios using the weathered unit with the same results, even copying and replacing the driver's loco in the scenario.

I'm stumped.

Just downloaded and installed 1.0.0.4... and no exterior sounds. I am getting some muffled interior sounds at times, but no bell or horn... and no headlights. My steps to reproduce issue:

1. Created free roam scenario on original Cajon Pass at Hesperia.
2. Checked SD40WnPack01 on asset flyout for RSC, along with 16-645 for MLWAudio.
3. Placed single CN wide cab SD40-2 on siding and added driver (standard freight).
4. Saved and exited scenario, cleared cache from Tools menu, and started scenario.
5. Pressed Y to start engine per instruction manual. Popup menu said startup process was running.

Throttle and brakes to respond (RPM's increase with throttle advance as does amps), and I did notice that the physics are different (better). From years ago, I had installed the SD40-2 sound pack from Ovee, and the CN wide cab was part of the install. Not sure if that prior install is causing a conflict or not.

I had one additional test scenario from back when I installed the Ovee product. When I fired that one up (which includes the CN wide cab), the SD40-2's not listed on the Searchlight Sim list (original high hood SD40-2 and original CN SD40-2 had sounds. However, the CN wide cab did not.

Hope all this helps. If you need any additional information, please feel free to reach out to me. Thanks!

Uh the pack is under SearchlightSimulations\Audio . I guess it is to prevent conflicts with the old pack.

I issued yet another update which should take care of everything. It is however vital for everyone to take a look at the revised manual as it covers essential Information to get the sounds, lights and particle effects to work on any unit in any scenario. Both the new update along with the revised manual can be downloaded from the page below. Sorry for the inconvenience but nothing ever goes as planned...

Since everything seems to be working just fine for me should I avoid the update?

Not really. This includes a few additional fixes. I was able to reproduce the no sound, no throttle up and no headlight flare situations that many reported and I managed to fix them to the point were they even work for me if done right and followed by the manual.
