Tunnel sounds bug on the MCSA

Unread postby katyusha454 » Mon May 22, 2017 5:40 pm

Since the latest Workshop version of the MCSA route requires payware assets that I don't have, I got the older version from the RWA library. The modern version of the route has a road bridge going over the track right before the Moscow station. If the player train passes under this bridge, everything will sound like you're in a tunnel and it will stay that way until you quit the game. The bug persists even if you quit the scenario and play a completely different route; you have to quit the game completely and restart it to get the sounds back to normal. I tried to see if it had anything to do with the track bed rumble but that doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it?

I've had this bug before. I've used with with 3rd party horns to get a awesome horn echo. AFAIK there is no way to fix this.

Not even deleting and re-laying the track and/or replacing the bridge? I'm gonna try that later on once I actually figure out how to use the route editor without breaking anything.

Use the 'select' tool in the route editor to highlight the affected track. A flyout window will appear in the top right corner of your screen displaying the track properties, including track sound.

It might not be the track that needs rebuilding, but instead try to delete the Tunnel Occlusion Volume first. It's the thing that casts the shadow under the bridge, you can select it by clicking on the two semi-transparent green chevrons that should be hovering somewhere under the bridge (possibly also buried underground).

I've got the route editor open right now and I can't seem to find green chevrons anywhere, above or under the ground.
