VRC RWA GP40-2

Unread postby buzz456 » Sat May 06, 2017 3:58 pm

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Dan and Jerry of VRC they have decided to donate a GP-40-2 to RWA and the community. Bob has decided also to donate this to let me make this freeware. It will be posted exclusively in the library will be a complete locomotive and any and all re-paints can only be uploaded here. They ask that you not duplicate any of the paints that are or have been for sale. I started with a very nice paint done by Mikeg1250 and adapted it to this model. When I finish there will be a GP30 slug to go with this.

Looks awesome!

I've always been wondering why we haven't seen any of the VRC stuff repainted. This should be great for the community and all the repaint possibilities. !*cheers*!

WOW!!! That's really generous of them. Thank you VRC. I have the CSX GP40 and slug set very nice add-on. Wish I would have got the Santa Fe stuff but I didn't have the extra funds. Thank you guys again.

This is a very generous act. This helps tremendously in my route development,as correct locomotives would be very limited without it. I am so happy it will not become"abandon-ware".

Will this be compatible with any of the existing freeware GP40 repaints?

No. It's based off of the VRC model. The free ones I know about are based on a different model.

I'm a little confused here, by the description it sounds as though we're only getting a freeware copy of a GP40-2 and slug set in RWA livery, but by some of the comments here, it sounds like we're getting multiple models, or perhaps even a freeware version of the repainter's pack. Are these comments just the regular hype that appears for about anything or do they have part of the story that I'm missing? It would have been nice if this pack included a GP40 model or at least a GP40-2 without a modernized cab.

You mean only the one GP40-2 model, right?
