RoadRailer Simulations' CN SD75I Freeware Pack Release (2.01 OUT NOW)

Unread postby Sagefuncom » Tue Jul 05, 2016 10:34 am

* The 2.01 update is now out. You can download it on the RRS Site here: http://sagefun.com/RRS/products.html *

Hey everybody, this is Sage from The SFC Group, here today to talk about the CN SD75I repaint pack I've made for DTG's Train Simulator!

I've seen people attempt to create a Canadian National SD75I for Railworks, but mostly with no success. I've decided to take it on myself, and start working on my first public repaint project: The CN SD75I! I used the BNSF SD75I as the base, and I was able to repaint this locomotive into the CN livery and make it as close to the real thing as possible!

The repaint pack comes with two liveries: a CN SD75I and a CN SD75I with the CN URL. All repaints have autonumbering, and are numbered from 5600 to 5800. You will need the BNSF SD75 add-on in order for this to work, and you'll also need to modify the BNSF SD75I model in the CN engine directory in order for it to work with the extra custom textures.

If you like what I have to offer, please do consider replying (make sure to keep them clean)! Hope you enjoy it!

Changes Made from the Previous Version:
- Underframe and bogey/truck color darkened to match the real ones
- Steps now made a yellow color to match the real ones
- Fixed exterior texture bugs in the Cab View (however installation will now require the user to copy the CabView GEO file from the default SD75M CabView folders and paste it into the new mod folders manually)
- Includes 3 scenarios for the Ohio Steel 2 route (route sold separately)
- Includes a K3H Horn mod to closely match to the real one

What's Included in the Pack:
- The EMD SD75I in two Canadian National liveries
- 3 scenarios for the Ohio Steel 2 (route sold separately)
- K3H Horn Mod (will overwrite the default horn)
- SD75i Fix Script by Chacal
- PDF Manual (RRSDirect version only)

Requirements:
- BNSF SD75 add-on (US only)
- Ohio Steel 2 Route (required for scenarios to work)

Download the 2.01 update from the RoadRailer Simulations Site

Download the original version from the Railworks America File Library

A quick patch has been released to fix a major bug in the SD75i Fix Script. Please redownload the mod if you've already downloaded the unpatched version. Special thanks to MattG17 for spotting the issue!

Ladies and gentlemen, version 2.0 of the Canadian National SD75I Freeware Pack is out now! It is our first mod for DTG's Train Simulator, upgraded with some texture changes, cab view texture issues fixed, 3 new scenarios for the Ohio Steel 2 route (sold separately), and a K3H Horn Mod!

Download and try it out on the RRS Site today (The RRSDirect version includes a PDF manual with installation instructions and scenario information; RWA release coming soon):

Looks great from the pictures, I haven't had a chance to download it yet but the only thing I notice is that in your screenshots the trucks appear to be grey instead of black? Could just be your settings on your pc I'm not sure, I've gotta download it and check it out to see for myself.

They are grey, but I was unable to paint them black unfortunately. Should be alright how it is. ;)

What do you mean unable to paint them black...
Da Build: Intel Core I5-9600k, Nvida RTX 2060 Super, 32 GB ram, and way too much storage.

The bogey textures for the SD75I Geo file I believe are linked to the SD75M's bogey textures. I could look into them a little more, take the bogey textures, and I can paint them black if I wanted to, but seeing how I already released the mod, it's too late to fix it now.

I appreciate the feedback thecanadianrail. The good news is that I've now been able to get the trucks/bogies black! I'll issue a 2.01 update to correct the previous issue, along with a revised PDF manual.

But did you manage it without making the normal units trucks black. due to the fact that all of the locos have the same truck texture alliased.

Yes, I managed to by fixing the absolute paths to the bogey textures in the SD75I GEO file (in the respective mod folders). For the 2.01 update, I've made additional changes to the RWSD75iFix script (which is included in the pack) to fix the absolute paths to the bogies, plus since the CabView GEO file is required to show the proper CN textures inside the cab, I've added some lines of code into the script to copy the CabView GEO files from the SD75M default folder to the mod folders.

The CN SD75I Freeware Pack has now been updated to 2.01. The main changes consists of the bogey/truck textures now darkened to match the real ones, an updated PDF manual with updated installation instructions, and an updated SD75i Fix Script. I have also decided to scrap plans to release the 2.0 update on RWA, and rather make it exclusive to the RRS Website.

If you've already downloaded and installed the previous version, uninstall it, and install the 2.01 update.
