Instead of Cajon Pass, come up to Feather River Canyon and Donner Pass and drop by my place. Not as much wind. Besides great museums in the area, Sacramento RR, Niles Canyon, Western Pacific and this July a Railfest in Stockton.
Just an old Alaska guy trying to live in an insane world. Degree in life, Masters in common sense.

Donner Pass and Feather River are planned for June after my nephew's graduation. I've only been to Donner Pass once back in '93 and have never been to the Feather River route at all. I will filming for my YouTube channel in those spots. Gonna be up there for a week at least. *!greengrin!*

The 4 solar panel combiner adapter cable and 2 more solar panels finally arrived at my house while I was away filming in Tehachapi Pass all week. Now that I'm back home, I went to our biggest local park again to try them out. They bring in enough power to play games on my GTX 1070 laptop and not even touch the battery. Considering there are far less trains on average going over Donner Pass and Feather River than over Tehachapi Pass, I'm gonna have more idle time to play my laptop on those coming trips. This will help a lot. !!*ok*!!

That's sweet that they generate enough power to avoid battery use.
That's a nice setup you have.
