I'm curious to know what improvements were made to the horns, they sound the same to me.

Yeah the horn basically sounds the same. DTG want to put some ambience with it. As for fps I'm getting now about 33fps instead of 23fps. I'm trying it on the scenario Powering America Pt 2 I think it is called and this was where I was getting the improved fps. Anyway I got about 5 minutes into it and got and error message which said something about a derailment, and the game went back to the scenario screen asking if I wanted to start it again.

I've got my new I5 powered multi-purpose system up and running. I've been through a scary moment when I bent a couple of pins in the CPU socket of the new motherboard. Using a magnifying glass and an x-acto knife I've bend the pins straight again.
It still uses Windows 7 and spinning disks, the transition from AMD to Intel architecture went unexpectedly smooth, SSD's are the next step in upgrading.

For comparison and Imnew's statistics here is the fps in the Build 49's Q353 "8" view with all settings maxed out: I5 7600 3.5 GHz, 16 GB 2133 MHz, 980Ti 1920x1200 FXAA 100%
fps is mostly in the green 30-31, but snapping a screenshot takes some cycles off.
20170401211816_2.jpg

All in all, a marked increase over the 4 GHz AMD FX4130, and the MSI Z170A PC Mate motherboard has every fan header regulated despite being a very basic budget motherboard. All is quiet again.
The more powerful CPU means more work for the GPU. It is running mostly at >95% and heats up to 85 Centigrade. Adjusting the case fans is necessary to prevent the GPU from thermal throttling.

Most excellent Edwin! Nice to see you are almost in the green *!!wink!!* I have to check out how much difference 3440x1440p vs 1920x1200 is on my setup. Thanks for posting an update on your build !!howdy!!

62 is as high as the game engine will allow.

Will have to try out running some night services again. That's where I hit the highest FPS.

I saw people posting they were getting them in the 100's?? Guess that was fanboy talk? I was surprised to see it hit 62. All my settings are maxed in game and in nVidia control panel. No vsync. 100% on the field thing.

I've seen fps over 62 too, but only on those menu screens without an active background. The fps is capped at 62 in TSW. Why 62 I don't know.

I have a new issue with the beta 3 update. In services with the AC4400 in the Q015 scenario while sitting in the cab when I turn the headlights on Bright aux I get a blinding light in the cab. When I sound the horn this bright light flashes In time with the left ditch light. If I pan the in cab camera around the cab this blinding light will diminish depending on the camera angle. While out side the cab facing the front of the locomotive when I blow the horn This blinding light flair is in sequence again with the left ditch light. Moving the camera across the tracks ahead of the locomotive will also diminish this blinding flair effect. One final unusual aspect is that the farther the train gets from the starting point this flair will diminish until eventually the ditch lights flash normally.
Can anyone see if this is reproduceable on there system?
I have not changed any settings either in NVIDIA or in game.

I've had that error too. Something with the light emitters on the AC4400 in Build 49 is broken. Ticket submitted.

I just ran Q015 and have the same experience... blinding light in the cab as I swing the camera from 10 o'clock to 3 o'clock and it will then pulse in sequence with the left ditch light if you blow the horn. Using the #2 view and swinging around for a look at the front of the engine the lights are so bright that it is hard to tell if the engineers side ditch light is even flashing at all.

I've had this all along with the SD40...

I just ran Q249 in services for the SD40 and the lights do not have that flair as yours do. Are you using update 3 beta?
