They really should not. The load time would be sub optimal.

it just seems like a simple route. kind of the likes of the metra route.

Still none the less, being from the bay. i'm happy that there are more local routes being made.
Da Build: Intel Core I5-9600k, Nvida RTX 2060 Super, 32 GB ram, and way too much storage.

Nothing is ever simple. !*salute*!

With a pair of travelers at each windowpane.

Or I may sit elsewhere, never knowing you.
But if fate should mark me to sit by your side,
Let's be pleasant travellers; it's so short a ride."

I have my own Capitol Corridor route. I can say with some certainty that adding the peninsula, and then adding Gilroy would impact performance.

But who knows.

I don't really understand this Eric. We have 900+ miles of track on the MRL and probably a hundred miles of scenery and it loads and runs without any issues or any frame rate hits. If I understand the workings of RW it loads the indexes for all of the assets and content but only runs what is on the tiles around you so a large route once loaded should run fine no matter how large the total route.

It's been 3-4 months since the tiny mention of a SF route in the announcement of TSW, and we still don't have anymore info. With the beta coming out next month I almost feel like maybe they're giving up on this route. It seems like it's way too close to TSW for them to release a route for TS2017 when they haven't even said anything or posted any WIP photos. With the time frame of everything, maybe they decided to bump this up to a future TSW route instead?

Nah, Matt P said himself DTG doesn't like to show screenshots until things are done (or at least in release candidate state). It's just the way they roll, which is why TSW (well, at least the whole CSX Heavy Haul part of it) was not announced until September even though it had been in the works for 3 years. The SF route is probably still in the works, just not quite ready yet. When they brought it up in September, it has only been 2.5 months after all, it was probably just starting, and it is not done yet so we are not seeing it.
