Worked, thanks.

edit: The Hartford physical plant looks awesome, great job on that trackwork!

The DTG cabview IS included with the new GP9s, but note that if you installed v3 over v2 you will now have TWO sets of GP9s (Michael's originals as well as the new ones using DTG+ parts).

Thank you Diego - my memory isn't so bad then! Looks like the update from T&D (understandably) doesn't have the DTG Geep 9 cabview.

Hi Rod,

The T&D update does indeed ship with our original GP9 as it was with version 2. The Steam version contains Derek's cabview and some other tweaks and improvements.

Cheers

Thank you getting back Michael :D - excellent work all round on the route and a true classic.

BTW, thank you for bringing back Winter Coal Deliveries in the Workshop - my favourite scenario from earlier versions!

Thanks for clarifying Michael! I'd bought v3 from Steam before the T&D update was available so didn't realize that the DTG GP9s are only in the Steam build.

Was the original consist of the Northbound and Southbound passenger scenarios an FA and FB? I ask because the new scenarios have just a GP, it seems like both the A and B would be a bit much for the consist. I am not sure what to swap for the GP.

Hi Chris, Our 'long distance' passenger runs have always been Geep-powered. If you want to swap it for something else, I would recommend the FL-9, the FA would have been too slow (and unlike the mixed service NH GP9 or RS-3, not equipped with steam heaters).

The FL-9s were a regular choice of power on trains running through from Springfield to NYC, and judging by photos also on some trains that terminated in New Haven if an FL-9 was available (or the same consist ran through to Grand Central later in the day). And again judging by photos, trains on the Springfield Line would be highly powered to allow getting up to speed quickly and keep the tight schedule, I suppose. It really was a busy line, upgraded to 90mph and cab signaling at some point (which, for several reasons, we have not modeled in our version).

Please note that swapping stock *might* disable the scoring system of the career scenarios (I don't know, I'm guessing it might.)

Thanks, I just assumed the FA and FB were part of that passenger scenario set. I will look into getting the FL9 next time it goes on sale. For now I will stick with the GP9.

I have swapped in the RS3 for a few of the 44-tonner scenarios and I was still scored.

Thanks for the info, that is good to know. So the scenario validation may be less picky than I thought. Cool! !!*ok*!!

Hi,

Thanks to all who reported this to us: there seems to be a fair amount of bugs ("failed to load" errors) with the scenarios that shipped with the Trains & Drivers update of the route.

I am investigating this and may have found out what is causing it, but to be sure I would like to ask if anybody who has the Trains & Drivers copy of version 3 of the route would be so kind to volunteer as a beta tester for my bugfixing attempt? Please send me an email or PM if you do, I would very much appreciate the help.

Thanks for your assistance!

Hello,

A first public version of the scenarios patch for the Trains & Drivers version that I announced a little while ago is now available:
http://vnhrr.golden-age-rails.com/files/VNHRR_Springfield_v3_Trains-Drivers_Scenario_Patches.rwp
Just use the Package Manager from Utilities.exe and install it after having installed the main route installer for version 3.

This should address at least some of the "scenario failed to load" issues many of you reported when running the latest Trains & Drivers version (the free update) of the Springfield Line. Do NOT install this if you have the Steam Version!

I say "should address at least some" issues because internal testing has had somewhat inconclusive results in terms of how many scenarios worked before and after applying the patch, in the end I ran out of ideas of things we could try or change or tweak. The patch did however improve the situation in all cases so I'm now releasing this patch as it is.

Again: Do NOT install this if you have the Steam Version!

A big THANK YOU to the kind people who have helped test and troubleshoot this patch: OldProf, Overshoe, Chacal, and Pentacone Peter. *!!thnx!!*

Have you already run all the scenarios that shipped with the route? Are you looking for more things to do in Springfield, Hartford, New Haven and points between?

Steam Workshop may be what you are looking for.

As of today, fifteen additional scenarios for the Springfield Line route DLC can be downloaded there, with a total playtime of well over ten hours!

I have created a Workshop Collection for all the Springfield Line scenarios so that you can find them all in one place. The collection includes a wide variety of scenarios, covering almost everything from yard switching to high speed passenger running. It features scenarios by authors StevenJam, RolandBP, tompallen, Joshua Harkness and me.

Here is the link to the Workshop Collection:

Enjoy the new scenarios for the Springfield Line!

I fully want to thank all of the creators of this great route and the scenarios that have been posted so far. I am really enjoying the atmosphere in the mid 1950's southern new England. I'm hoping that there are more scenarios planned for the east side of Hartford and around New Haven (industrial and yard trackage)
