Since you're working with DTG now, will you keep using your GP9 model or switch to theirs?

Couple 'a questions.
1. Will the steam version over write the original version?
2. Will the existing RDC scenarios be rewritten for the Steam version?
3. If I upgrade my existing version will I still be able to access the Steam Workshop?

Thanks for the questions! Please keep them coming if there are other things you would like to know or ask us about.

Generally no, and to some extend yes. The folder names have remainded unchanged, but the Steam version will most likely come in its usual .ap packed format. Which means that if you want to use the Steam Version you will need to uninstall the older version first so that it won't overwrite the content of the .ap file. We will put all this into our update instructions too when the new version goes live.

2. Will the existing RDC scenarios be rewritten for the Steam version?

Yes. We will patch them for the reworked tracks in version 3.

3. If I upgrade my existing version will I still be able to access the Steam Workshop?

You mean if you get the update directly from us / Trains & Drivers and not buy the full version from Steam? Which is the course of action we will recommend to all who own version 1 or 2. In that case, yes, it should be compatible with Workshop. As far as I know, Workshop only checks that the route ID and assets paths match those of the item from the Steam DLC catalogue (which is why repaints can be used in Workshop scenario submissions as long as they are based on official DLC content).

We will be using parts of the DTG GP9 and have improved what was kept of my model.

Cheers

The photos of the (near) finished route look really good.

The RS-3 seems to be gone along with the FA / PA, which is too bad IMO. We do gain the superb S2 model in many paint schemes, however.

The NH hosted so much diverse power. Wish we had a DL-109 :-)

Will it still be possible to purchase the previous editions in order to get the locomotives that won't be included in version 3?

'nother question. I have seen mention of the FA-1's being upgraded and released as a separate DLC package. Will these over write the existing locos in the non-Steam package? And is there any future upgrade planned for the RS3s?

I don't know how the new FA is going to be packaged. But we'll look into the RS-3.

Version 3 will be the only version of the route. Maintaining a separate offer of the old version would go against the wishes of our partners and also look bad for us, version 3 is in essence a new route and is vastly better than version 2 was.

Will all the locos in the existing route base package be present in the Steam version, and will the RDC be Steam DLC?

Read above. I think we have gone through what's there and what's not. The Budd has never been part of the route.
