[SOLVED] Removing logos

Unread postby USARailfan » Sun Jun 19, 2016 6:49 pm

Does anybody here know how to remove the logos on like the F59PH and the Pooch? I'm trying to make a fictional railroad with them and the amtrak logos are in the way.

Export the dds data from RSbintool. Once its been exported, right click it and click open with paint.net. Now cover the logo with the grey/white checkerboard. Save, and import to RSbintool. And you're done.

Do you want to make the existing logos invisible or edit them and add your own logo? This sequence will create a transparency.

RSBinTool > Export as DDS
DXTBmp > Import DDS and export the alpha to your editing program (I use Photoshop)
Paint > Paint the entire sheet black (0, 0, 0) and save the BMP as trans
DXTBmp > import the edited alpha (trans) and save as DDS
RSBinTool > import the DDS and save as TGPCX

In DXTBmp when you tell it to save as DDS you then need to tell it to save in DXT3.

get RWTools.
Set up paths to your train sim folder and too your graphics editor in the options menu.
In the file menu choose to open a .tgpcdx file and open your texture file from the texture directory of the engine you want to modify.
In the graphics menu choosechoose convert .tgpcdx to dds
In the graphics menu again choose edit dds file
edit your file and save the dds.
In RWtools graphics menu, choose convert dds to .tgpcdx and save..
Have fun. :).. hope this helps..
