Time consuming I'll grant you. I have watched that first tutorial at least a dozen times. I've made 50-60 QD scenarios and had many of them fail, but it is something I wanted to learn to do.
As far as it being a hassle? That's your choice. I found it interesting, challenging and ultimately rewarding because now I can toss a QD together in 10 minutes (longer if I add AI) and get back to driving.
