
Back before the days of Amtrak, it was up to the B&M, MEC, and GT to bring passengers to the seaside city of Portland, Maine. Here we see the
Kennebec at Union station, ready to head off to it's final destination of Bangor, Maine in the Autumn of 1951. Sadly, it would be less than 10 years before all passenger service operated by the Boston and Maine and the Maine Central would cease.
