Possible Asset problem solved

Unread postby ChuckF » Sat May 07, 2011 8:37 am

Hi! I don't know if this has been posted before, but I ran into an asset problem, and found a solution.

Several simmers have posted that they could not get assets to show up in RW. I just had this problem, and when I looked at the RW file tree, I found I had 2 asset folders. Railworks/Assets/Assets/Britkits, etc. When I copied the assets in the 2nd fold back into the 1st folder, my assets appeared in RW. It might be worth a try for people to check for duplicate folders within RW.

I've had a similar problem where I found that the Developer/Product folder(s) had a space in the name. Once I removed the space and made the corresponding edit in the .bin file, the assets worked (I don't know why this was different than the "Chaddock Engineering" assets which work fine with a space in the name).

Hi! Bad file names and syntax errors can really foul you up. Seems that these errors are much harder to find in RW than in MSTS.
