Still going to be EXTREMELY annoyed (I want to say something else, but annoyed will suffice) if all we can end up with is unlined / unliveried rolling stock

!*cheers*!

Don't waste your time being annoyed. Or whatever. If they do that it will be about three point two minutes before signage is out just like The Race Track.

**!!bow!!**

Hadnt really followed developments / issues with the Racetrack - not really my thing - thanks for the reassurance...

!*cheers*!

There were no real issues. The route came out with generic signage and in a very short time RWA had a FREE patch to get all the Metra, and BNSF markings on everything. just people helping people.

I noticed, and I'm sure licensing is why. Again, the community will take a whack at it once it's released I'm sure. Give it time....

Already want to do reskins, maybe even take a crack at modeling some stuff like C&S business cars (910,911,912), Combines, different generations of boxcars, ect. since I'm eyeball deep in blueprints. Also I have to admit, pompous as it sounds, it feels awesome when your place of employment makes its way into the game you play.

Not that I would claim any credit for this, but I have several times suggested such substitutions, not so much to simply avoid licensing "issues" and to poke a stick in the trademark owners' eyes (especially BNSF). I made these suggestions after noticing several clever near-trademark usages on extant DLC routes -- now, if I could only remember which ones, I'd send in some screenshots.

I'm an engineer at the Georgetown loop and I am involved heavily with the Colorado & Southern Railway Society, the non-profit currently restoring C&S 1006 to an operational state in Silver Plume and the caretakers/doing an evaluation of C&S 60 and Coach 70 in Idaho Springs. The C&SRyS is where I have all of the plans from.

I saw this one, but I thought you must have meant one where you can actually see what is in the background !*roll-laugh*! . When you look at the bigger screenie you sent, and I enlarged it to 750%, and all I can see is a loco and green coaches, so I am not sure how you tell. (How did you tell?) Would be great to have another little bit of variety, but I am not holding my breathe. No matter what, this is definately !*drool*!

Yes it will be available to all but, as instructed by BNSF, will not include the appropriate branding outside of North America."

This was posted over on the article page in relation to a question asked about BNSF licencing. What issue could there be with a 80 year old fallen flag steam line? Can anybody hazzard a guess what this means in english? Are those non-US residents going to get unliveried locomotives & rollingstock? Unfortunately I do not Farcebook and the like so I cant ask the question over on the page, but I believe it is an important one for prospective purchasers. I understand the genealocical path, just seems beyond reason

!*cheers*!

edit: typos **!!bang!!**

I'm not an high paid corporate lawyer so you'll have to pardon my ignorance. I can go into any hobby shop here in Australia, or anywhere else in the world outside the USA, and purchase model locomotives and rollingstock in the full colour schemes of BNSF or any of its predecessor roads (some of the paint schemes varying widely in accuracy or even on locos never owned by those railroads) so why not models in a computer simulation? I can't afford a lawyer to ask BNSF's of DTG's lawyers so I guess I'll never know. !**conf**!
