I haven't tested the update yet, so I can't say. Not sure if I'm going to test it either lol.

It's still a good idea to test run the F59PHI after the update. I don't get why DTG didn't add alerter functionality unlike the Coaster and Metrolink as the cab proxyxml has an alerter sound coded in lol.

I haven't tested it yet. I knew about the brake fix by reading the DTG change listing.

It removes my brake fix. The brakes seem to work faster than the original but everything else is wrong. Pressures, gauges, and the Graduated release from what I can tell.

That's what I figured. I suppose we should get around to reworking the mod around this release in the coming weeks?

Try just reapplying your mod. It should overwrite the changes.

Does your statement means the updated engine bin has different brakes blueprints that will render your brakes mod unuseful or inactive?

Just curious as to how your fixes, which as modifications will have to be reloaded after each cache verification, compare to those published by DTG on February 29, which are now part of the route and thus need not be continually reinstalled.

In response to your important feedback on a variety of add-ons available for Train Simulator 2016, we have released an update for Pacific Surfliner.

Here’s a list of what has been addressed:
Fixed incorrect setup of Quick Drive Consists
Fixed an issue with the driving cab car camera
Fixed an issue with number on the driving cab car
Fixed the missing handbrake in the simulation
Fixed an issue with the brakes to make them behave more appropriately
Fixed an issue with window textures
Fixed an issue that would cause snow to appear on some roads in places
Fixed an issue with unlicensed branding appearing on road vehicles
Fixed an issue with switch levers incorrectly located
Fixed a number of issues with missing sounds
Fixed an issue with trains blocking specific routes in Quick Drive
Fixed a number of scenario issues that would result in incomplete scenarios
Fixed a wide array of texture issues in the route
Fixed a number of issues with floating objects
Fixed a number of issues where trains would foul the platforms

Theoretically it should, but I've been getting reports of issues since this last bug fix update in regards to mod functionality, so I'll probably have to figure something out besides telling people to just reinstall the mod.

I just reapplied the v3.0 mod and my graduated release fix and it seems to work fine for me. Not sure what needs to fixed with the mods?

Does your statement means the updated engine bin has different brakes blueprints that will render your brakes mod unuseful or inactive?

It completely overwrites what I have done for the brakes.

I just looked at the new files and to the folder the structure (and file names) of version 3.0 application and "both have the very same folder structure" and "same file names", including the simulation dynamic brakes effort dcsv. So there is no way the V3.0 fix does not overwrite whatever is in the newly updated .AP Railvehicles folder, even if DTG/RSC changed radically the internal engine and simulation bin files.

In other words: your fix gentlemen, works as it did before the update and would not require any change whatsoever, as I see them.
But I wonder what progress did DTG with this update as to the engine performance and other fixes not dealt in the version 3.0. There must be some changes inside the F59PHIEngine.bin file (not addressed in the version 3.0), that would be interesting (or better necessary) to keep. In this case the fix should be reapplied to the new (update) engine F59PHIEngine.bin.

So who can comment on the "Fixes" from DTG. What was wrong with the cab car camera, window texture, missing sounds, missing handbrake? Anyone care to comment on the fixes / elaborate any further.

All I know is that they added some sounds to the buttons in the cab of the loco. Also, remember that when it does these "updates" it checks the date of the local files of that specific add-on. So what it did was notice that dates were different and rewrote the whole add-on. Our MOD nay well be just fine but would need to be reinstalled.

The brake sounds are also reworked. Some new sounds were also added to the coaches, like the air door sounds from the Superliner equipment.
