Wabash02 50ft PS1 Boxcar

Unread postby harryadkins » Sun Jan 10, 2016 4:54 pm

This model is a Wabash Railroad reskin of Michael Stephan’s freeware 50ft PS1 Boxcar. The 50ft-PS1 base model can be downloaded at http://www.stephan-michael.de/railsim/p ... ps150.html.

The Wabash Railroad (WAB) was a Class I railroad that operated in the mid-central United States. It served a large area, including track in the states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, and Missouri and the province of Ontario. Its primary connections included Chicago, Illinois, Kansas City, Missouri, Detroit, Michigan, Buffalo, New York, St. Louis, Missouri, and Toledo, Ohio.

The Wabash's major freight traffic advantage was the direct line from Kansas City to Detroit, without going through St. Louis or Chicago. Despite the Wabash name disappearing in the 1960s, the company continued to exist on paper until being merged into the Norfolk Southern Railway in 1991.

Special thanks goes to Michael Stephan for his excellent model and repainter’s package. If you have problems, post a message in the support forum at Railworks America. This package is released as freeware. You can do whatever you wish with it EXCEPT make money with its use.

Harry, I have been trying, with not much luck, to do a Wabash 40ft boxcar. I have the logo down pretty well, but an struggling with the rest. If you are interested I can get you the logos I did if you would consider putting it together right.

Let me know.

Hi Trevor,

Your 40ft model looks great! I don't know how to move the autonumber textures either. In times past I've substituted invisible number textures and placed a static number where it should be. Suggest you release your model "as-is."
