Wow, I loved that route in MSTS.
I hope Eugene to Klamath Falls (Cascades Crossing) will be re-released for RW as well

I am more looking forward to the finalisation fo the vNHRR and Wayne's re-worked RWA for my steam fix.

It is going to be interesting to see what routes of interest and consequence are left for inclusion in the much revered Unreal version possibly next year.

I was waiting for the first negative comment to come out. Congratulations on winning the complaint award before the thing even comes out. !*not-ok*!

"Complaint" - Seriously?? There is a long way between complaint and statement of fact! It doesnt end in a logical location - Portola being the Division Point (as others have here and elsewhere noted), b) it is a long single line operation and c) there is not a steam locomotive in sight. (and no, you are not !!**sorry**!! )

ps: thank you for the award, have won sod all in my life *!!thnx!!*

Now I think I will have a coffee and a time out in the naughty coner

Not going all the way to Portola misses out on two iconic landmarks - Williams Loop and the trestle at Clio.

I just hope all you who know something about this will point out the error of their ways to DTG. Hopefully if the route is still in development improvements can still be made.

I was wondering about that last night. I thought something seemed odd.
Yes it should go to Portola. In fact that line should go a bit farther up to the interchange with SP really.
That's odd indeed.

As far as complaining. How would you smarty pants back east feel if Horseshoe Curve was only built from Altoona to Galitzen??? Because that's essentially whats going on with Feather River. !!bang!!

I can't wait for this route to come out. I wonder if DTG will extend the route which if they do will be awesome but DTG will probablay leave it as is it and say "yup its good enough its Western Pacific and lots of people will like that and has Keddie Wye and so it should be fine." I'm sure that is what they will say. *!lol!* Although this and the Amtrak P32-8BHW I will wait to see how they are when they come out before I think if I will buy them or not.

They think they're smart by gathering playtime statistics and seeing no one wants to run end to end of a long route in one sitting and averages about 20-45 minutes in game. Therefore they decide to make a route shorter because it has less turnaround time for asset creation and play testing and they can spew it to all of the suckers that complain about it but buy the dern thing anyways.

That is why you split up scenarios in parts. I don't think anyone wants to drive the whole Donner Pass route in one sitting.

Elphaba already does that, and a good job of it at that. But shortening the time someone feels obligated to run the game is in the Scenario creators hands, not the people who chose where to start and end a route. I remember how they wanted to go from LA-Fullerton instead of the whole South End PSL to San Diego.

What do you mean by that? You can use your FEF-3 and the Connie to make scenarios for that route.

Why are we discussing steam locomotives?
COME ON PEOPLE! LATE 60's-EARLY 70's! the most we could do would be fan trips with the FEF.

Soldier Summit is set in the FREAKING EIGHTIES AND YET PEOPLE STILL WRITE MODERN SCENARIOS. Therefore I will not have a problem running GEVOs SD70s on this route.

That isn't Erik's problem. He's not happy with an above post complaining there won't be any steam engines in this route.

I'd say it's a safe bet that before the release date is over, someone will post a screenie showing 2-3 FEFs pulling a 60 car mixed freight...... Just saying......
