Major Flooding Issues

Unread postby harryadkins » Mon Oct 05, 2015 1:56 pm

I'm sure many of you have followed the flooding in South Carolina. The Black River here in Kingstree is already above flood stage and still rising. Many homes and streets are underwater in my neighborhood but we live on higher ground (for now). I talked with a CSX work train crew today. They are here to unload about 30 cars of huge rocks (Herzog side dump cars) around the Black River (and swamp) bridge. This is the NYC - Miami mainline and sees five Amtrak trains daily plus about forty freights.

My family and I are safe for now but we are prepared to evacuate if necessary.

We were able to get back in our home yesterday with no flood damage. Just two blocks away, many houses were a total loss. So thankful that God created hills. Thank you all for your prayers.
