New Rolling Stock Packs.....

Unread postby TheOldDessauer » Fri Aug 07, 2015 2:40 pm

Ermahgerd! New rolling stock packs on Steam. BNSF freight pack (5 cars, some with multiple versions) for $4.99 and Great Northern Steam-Diesel Transition-Era pack (6 cars) $4.99. I'm especially stoked about the Great Northern Pack. Here's hoping that we get more steam era stuff... !*brav*!

BNSF Wagon Pack Add-On:

The pack includes the following:

BNSF Boxcar 50ft (two versions)
BNSF Flatcar green (with/without log load)
BNSF Flatcar red (with/without log load)
BNSF (Coal) Hopper 100ft (two versions)
BNSF Hopper Air slide

The GN Wagon Pack Add-On:

Includes the following rail vehicles in GN livery:

GN Boxcar 40-foot
GN Caboose (One steel-sheathed, One Dovetail-wood siding)
GN Gondola
GN Hopper 55-ton
GN Hopper 70-ton
GN Ore Hopper

Canadian's, and anyone out side of the USA for that matter, can't buy them because of bnsf's license agreement.

Click on the market tab here. Found the BNSF wagons link on Google I cannot purchase either outside the US. Couldn't find the other pack though.

I'm in the U.S. and they're not on the store. They shouldn't be releasing BNSF stuff in the USA anyway if it's not part of a route.

Why not? BNSF is in the US and we are too and we want US rolling stock. Where do you get this stuff from?

Never mind I looked again on the store. What I find strange is that according to SteamDB the GN wagons are only on the U.S. store, but the GN Empire Builder pack is still present on international stores. Somehow Maria's and Stevens Pass can be sold outside the U.S. with the BNSF branding.

These two wagon packs, BNSFWagonPack01 and GNWagonPack01, are great additions to the game. As I recall when Greatnortherner made arrangements for Steam to release his previous three Wagon Packs on the Marketplace, he also published several matched scenarios on his Golden Age of Railroading website that are now available on Steam Workshop that used the PRRWagonPack01 contents
(South Fork Hoppers) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=191106568
(Westbound Coal Empties)http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=194985948 and
(Iron Sharks to Pittsburg)http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=493860081
that made use to great effect the rolling stock included in them.

Michael, can we anticipate more scenarios to be published that use the new freight cars from these two new wagon packs?

Hello,

Yes, I plan on uploading several scenarios for these to make up for the Marketplace items generally (or always?) shipping without any scenarios. A first batch of scenarios has just gone online, though these aren't precisely "new" -- they are modified versions of my previously released "GN Train 6" series. The original scenarios used a ton of DLC and download equipment and according to my website stats not many have downloaded them. Maybe the Workshop version will be more attractive.

Completely flipping my lid right now! (In a good way !**duh*!! ). I just bought the BNSF pack yesterday and I'm LOVIN' it. News of the B&O pack has got me floored right now. It's been awhile since I've been excited about things I can buy in the Steam store. !*YAAA*! !*YAAA*! !*YAAA*! !*YAAA*!

Now if only we had some authentic B&O power to go with it... !!det!!
