Backing Up Content

Unread postby BDWorkshop » Wed Jul 22, 2015 1:04 pm

Before I dive into download tons of Railworks content from this site and others, what is the best way to back up all the "stock" content in TS2015? What folder should I save?

The nice thing about Steam is that you can revert back to your stock/default content by 'verifying files' within Steam. The downside is that when you do that you will potentially lose all of the assets you add that are not purchased via steam.

I keep a folder for all of my non steam add ons, and custom route backups.

Assets will back up all the rolling stock scenery and so forth and content will back up all the routes.

Just copy your "c:\Program Files(x386)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks" folder to a different location.

That's for WIndows 7 64-bits.
If you have the 32-bit version you won't have that I think.

Yeah, I was at work.
Doesn't matter, just back up the railworks folder.

Ok thanks. I did think of one more question before I really get busy in Railworks. Is there a way to find out if a route is missing content before you try to load it?

Do you have RWTools? If not get it. It's worth every penny ten times over.
