RW&A Lakeside, Vegetation Mods

Unread postby wacampbell » Fri Jun 19, 2015 12:31 pm

I like to run this route a lot, and decided to customize it a bit by adding some additional trees and bushes.

The mod should appear in the library soon. It includes:

- increased viewing distance of trees to 5km to prevent them 'popping' into view
- more trackside vegetation along the right of way
- better distant vistas with 3D Dynamic Clouds
- terrain flora added for even more vegetation
- added crop vegetation in some fields

There's a lot of dense new geometry here that's going to effect your frame rates. It runs well on my high spec PC, but your mileage may vary. Back up the route folder so you can revert in case your PC isn't up to it.

And don't forget to enable procedural flora in your settings panel to get the full effect.

Good observation. That's a track I've been experimenting with, but I didn't end up releasing it with this mod. In the end I prefer the less maintained look of the Rick's original track. So I added some subroadbed lofts to Rick's track to make it work with my scenery technique. Here's what I ended up releasing with the mod package:

It look's awesome Wayne. I actually do kind of prefer the track in the first pictures you posted.

Well, I've just acquired the RW&A and this mod will be installed very soon. You have an excellent eye for fine detail Wayne, superbly done, I can't wait to have a run round this. Now, this is what Payware routes should look like, brilliant, thank you to everyone including Wayne, for this excellent layout. **!!bow!!**
