Like any other route, this one has a few bad rail joints.
Here for example, westbound track #1:

How to repair it?

I believe that the issue has to do with superelevation ending on a curve... or something.

Hopefully it will not cause a derailment.

I found an error in the manual: On page 19, Figure 2.10 Formation states that there is an Amfleet II Sightseer lounge. Amfleets are not used on California Zephyrs, only Superliners were during Amtraks time, except in the 1970s when Heritage cars were used.

Have you reported this fault to DTG ? They won't know other wise.

Probably cut the section out with an electric saw then put a new section in and bolt it together. !*roll-laugh*! I have been watching too much Alaskan Railroads on TV. !!*ok*!!

I don't think I've ever seen bent rail like that before. Sherman Hill has a bad joint just around the turn eastbound out of the tunnel if memory serves me right, but it's about a 1-2 inch drop from one rail to the next... not a bend.

EDIT: I just noticed an unexpected interactive (and functional) feature in the SD40T-2 cab; you can grab the wiper handles on the inside and move the wiper manually, as well as turn the wiper motors on like normal. !!*ok*!!

The sounds really give the feel to the route. Are those a customized version of the payware 645E3 sounds?

Haven't heard any bird sounds like you get on the UK routes like blackbirds and seagulls.

trying not to sound like I am being an A@$ but the route is set in the desert so why the heck would you expect to hear seagulls and black birds? at best you might hear vultures

Just using that as an example. Like you might hear quail or similar birds you get there.

Good Morning:

Actually there are many birds in Utah. The seagull is the state bird. Colorful story about it when Utah was founded.
