Mike Simpsons - RW Tools

Unread postby ozinoz » Mon Mar 02, 2015 11:15 pm

Thought I would post this here as it probably gets more traffic than his individual fora.

Some scumbag has uploaded a cracked version of RW Tools to a file share site and it seems there has been more attempted downloads of that than his genuine licensed version. Seriously, we are talking a $5+ donation to a man that has made RS / RW life so much easier for us all. Mike is talking of walking away from it all - that would be a massive shame and an indictment on our hobby. Would like to think that the original uploader does not frequent here, however, in the off chance, there is an old saying in this country that is fairly apt " may the fleas of a thousand wombats infest your armpits and your chickens turn to emus and kick your dunny down"

I just can't understand why these "Pukes" don't use their time and energy to help our hobby, rather than try to alienate one of the true cornerstones? As mentioned above; Seriously! For as little as $5.00??? That, my friends, is a deal!

To be fair, there's no way there could be 170000 people wanting to use RW-Tools for free.
I doubt there's as many active players, and a tiny part of active players have a use for RW-Tools.
It's probably robots downloading everything.

It's great program, essential if you are creating content for the game. I would hate to see Mr. Simpson walk away. It is, unfortunately, a risk that you run if there is no kind of DRM involved. You pretty much have to figure piracy into your business just like taxes or pay-pal fees.

You're of course welcome to a vacation from improving RW_Tools at any time, Mike, but please do not let those jerks triumph by discontinuing your program -- one of the few I know of that truly deserves being labeled as a utility!

it has been a year or so since I registered my copy of RW_Tools. I am going to re-register and make another donation to Mike for his excellent Utility. Why don't the rest of you mates consider doing the same...
