Can you do a sound-mod as well that takes the engine sounds from the freeware C36-7i?

The physics were OK (as in not everything was recycled from the ES44AC, like the F40PHL-2 physics were), but I tweaked them anyway.

I will definitely look into transplanting those sounds from the C36-7i.

John,
I get the idea that you haven't even purchased this yet. How can you possibly know that you don't like the sounds?

Wasn't it already mentioned that the sounds were recycled from the Kuju ES44AC?

Just because it was said doesn't make it so.

0.o

Well then, coming from me, yes, the sounds on the U36B are recycled from the Kuju ES44AC.

Sound swap and the physics mod are almost done. Should be out by 8pm ET.

The new U36B features a well-done Seaboard Coast Line version, a Seaboard System version with appropriate carbody detail changes, a range of cab, lights, door, and window features, additional engineer and crew view options, a period-authentic SCL covered hopper (in two different weathered versions), and I dare say an absolutely lovely rendered Seaboard Coast Line M-5 class caboose with multiple passenger (e.g., conductor) views. But let's ignore all that to see who can complain loudest about the engine sounds .....

Yes, the modeling is pretty commendable, but sounds are just as important; you can't downplay them. To say otherwise is like saying you're ok with a Big Boy sounding like an F40PH.

Anyway, the sound portion of the mod is coming along. Just some more volume adjustments and it should be ready to go:

Uh, that's hardly what I said. And certainly not a reasonable analogy for the difference in the sounds of this model and a "perfect" U-Boat.

Even the sound mod sounds nothing like a U boat. The sounds included sounded nothing like a U boat. I dont ask for perfection, but I am picky, and it seems others are too. I'm working on a solution to this problem as I type this. You'll see an official statement as an Oovee product soon, hopefully.

The Ded Mosai sound is the best out there.

At the moment, anyway. Those are the sounds I'm aliasing in the mod that has been released here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=13364

In the meantime, I too will eagerly await the official replacement sounds from Oovee. Might take some time, but the quality is unquestionable. !!*ok*!!
