Setting track speed limits in scenario editor? (dope slap needed)

Unread postby OldProf » Sun Jan 25, 2015 10:31 am

Some time ago, while writing a scenario for one of the German routes, I found an easy way to set the speed limit of a section of track lower without editing any files. Now that I'd like to do that again, I can't remember how I achieved it. So, I'm hoping that someone can provide the necessary dope-slap. I'm also hoping for a technique that does not involve using a track marker, since the tracks for which I want to reset the speed limit already have markers placed at the route editing level and, as we all know, track markers cannot be overlaid (something ought to be done about that, by the way).

One more time: I'm looking for a technique used within the scenario editor, not the route editor, not RW_Tools, not any file editor. Please!

In the editor use the track selector (Blank empty box) you select the section of track you want to change the speed for, then in the popout on the right set the speeds. Hope this helps

You can also change the track "roughness" in case you wanted a work area with some bad track...

Thanks, Bob, I noticed that in the properties box. It isn't appropriate for the yard maintenance area of the VNHRR, but it's something I might experiment with in the future. There's also a check-box for super elevation: have you ever tired that one?

It is not recommended to use that in the scenario editor only the route editor

The track has to be laid down properly for super elevation. Only done in the route editor.
