I wasn't going to buy this one right away however the sale sucked me in.

This route and the upgrade to the Virtual New Haven today - now I just need time to actually use them.

Here's that short preview. I've got my last final exam in 40 minutes, and then the Hobbit movie at 7:40. After all that's done, I probably won't sleep tonight... #toobusyoperatingsilverservicetrains

Although Dovetail's screenshots don't show it, the number fonts and the color of the numberboards have been fixed on the Dash 8. The blue and yellow colors are still the same however.

Thought I'd share my thoughts on this quite stunning route. It's quite the amazing route, awesome trackside detail and plenty to look at. However, there are a couple issues with the Dash-8 I feel like I should mention, the front steps are pretty messed up, you can see right through the locomotive when looking up at them. The brakes are quite bad (as in unrealistic), they slow the train way to quickly, I was doing 55 mph 0.2 miles away from a station with a fully loaded rock train and I stopped before I reached the end of the platform with only 40% brake application. They also went for a shiny finish on the loco, which most of the time looks awesome. It also has the same horn and bell as the Dash-9. The P42 has different engine sounds than the original one (I can't say which is better as I haven't really heard a P42 in real life). Horn and bell are the same as the original. The route itself is, like I said, is awesome. It seems like only some crossings have bells or the bell doesn't always sound, I'm not sure But i went through many crossings with the lights flashing but no bell. The minor Issues I've said really don't take away from this route, it's quite good. for the sale price I'm really happy.

Here are some screens:

This is that issue with the front steps I was talking about.

I've completed the P42DC mod for this route's Genesis locomotive. The file should go live this weekend.

Has anyone noticed on the CSX dash 8 that the handrail behind the cab on the engineer side is not shaped right? It looks like a part that holds the handrail up is by it self.

I will find out on how to change the horn sounds and apply a CSX K5LA into it, along with a GE Steel Bell.

Correct me because I want to know what horn most CSX C40-8's use.

Seeing I cannot upgrade my Virtual New Haven at the moment I had some time to try out Miami and I have to say its pretty decent. I only ran 1 p42 scenario but I was impressed. I think DTG did a decent job.
