Oddity as in variations? Cone now. For me even to mention the GP40M should indicate I have been busy researching how versatile this locomotive has been.

Done by DTG's messing up the texture sheets?

I notice plain bearings in some of the trucks, or at least large square journal boxes. Does that indicate these units have trucks from traded in FT's and F3's.

BN would be nice addition to Northwestern routes - Stevens Pass, Marias Pass and eyein's Seattle-Tacoma

3008 is kind of mutant. non-trivial repaint job

It is either wating for a rebuild at Wisconsin Central, or it is in the dead row at some locomotive rebuilders.

I know this is a longshot for me to even post this, but any chance in the future we'll see an H Series GP40 from you guys? Excellent work on these engines. :D Love the CSX YN3 paint and details.

VRC wrote:BNOV2 we are using the same internet, right? Google Burlington Northern GP40 and you will find that they had a variety of configurations.

I searched pics and found at least 4 configurations
-headlights on the nose (upper part)

Image

-headlights on the nose (lowered)

Image

-headlights cab-mounted

Image

-ditch lights may exist or no
-class lights may exist or no (I guess they were removed on rebuilt engines as superfluous equipment?)

so there is a lot of options
this one is interesting - it has both cab-mounted lights and mars light on the nose:

@Awaken while we appreciate your enthusiasm we need to be selective about what we spend our time modeling, there simply isn't time to do every variation out there. Remember the BNSF pack will not only be about BN liveries. It will include parts of its ancestry as well. Just like we did for the CSX pack.

Switching tracks slightly (ba du tish!), What are the thoughts of the EMD GP10? I somewhat have a soft spot for this goofy looking Loco.
