Does anyone think this is a good idea? As much as I love the UP SD90's, I just dont imagine them into NS Scheme.

It'll loook the same as an 80. Big deal. Cab will smell like pee and chew and bollocks like any other NS piece of crap anyhow.

Has anyone heard the rumors that NS is also trying to acquire the CSX sd80mac's? I don't know if there are true but heard that a couple times now.

So will there be some UP SD90's in UP Paint after the purchase from NS? Or will all of them be gone?

From what I heard NS won't repaint the 9043Macs, they will just patch them and number them 7230-7329. Then after awhile they will begin to turn into SD70ace's, I wouldn't be surprised if NS takes the 80Macs from CSX since CSX rarely uses them, some of CSX's 80Macs are not even in the country and some are in storage. At least NS is using the power from different railroads like the BN SD60Ms and not scrapping them. NS is going to be fun to railfan around with all this new power coming in.

I'm not sure how this will pan out for NS in the long term, but I think its awesome from a railfans perspective. I love that NS and CN are giving lots of 'outdated' engines a new life in mainline service.
