I'll start off my saying I rode Amtrak trains Number 42 and Number 43 aka the Pennsylvanian. So I can say I've ridden the Horseshoe curve route in real life.![]()
BNOV2, if you have any extra time in your schedule, get off the Capitol Limited in Pittsburgh and ride the Pennsylvanian. You'll get the best view of Horseshoe, ie from the train. You can continue on the Pennsylvanian all the way to New York City (Penn Station) If you can swing your schedule to end up in Washington, ride the Capitol Limited back so you can also see Sand patch on your return trip.
