Thanks guys for the update - looks as wonderful as I expected. Sad thing for me is I just don't get as much time to enjoy this route (or TS) as I would like. I do however check the blog every day for goodies *!greengrin!*

(Could have used a steamer though, a little NH 4-6-0 on the local would have been nice too *!lol!* )

It says at their website, that will be for the new VNHRR and when has the wrong time period kept them from making something for a route?

You've got me confused now, Eric. VNHRR is NOT a DTG route. This is Michael's baby, I bought it thru T and D. !*don-know!*

So, no M8's for you, buddy. Steamers only. !!*ok*!!

I'm confused too...
I'm guessing that two New Haven based routes are coming out.
I just realized that the DTG one isn't "Virtual" Hmmmmmmmmm.

Eric,

The "Virtual New Haven Railroad" (VNHRR) is a separate RW route effort created by Michael and myself. This has been a long-term project that had it's first pre-release (v.09) last fall. Followed later with a formal (improved) release in December and still available at the TAD website.

The VNH is a period piece set in the 1950's and we are trying very hard to remain true to the era. The route depicts the mainline from Springfield, Massachusetts and will ultimately terminate at Union Station in New Haven, Connecticut. Which of course will include the phenomenally huge Cedar Hill Yard and some of what facilities were left in New Haven (behind the station).

The published version currently ends in Windsor Locks, Connecticut complete with the Bradley Field/Suffield spur(s). Additionally at the Springfield end are the NH yards, a small B&M yard and the huge Boston-Albany facilities in West Springfield.

We are currently working on the v.2 expansion into and just beyond Hartford. An official release date has not been established, but we have been making good steady progress. In the Capitol region we are including the NH Meadows and East Hartford facilities, many industrial and utility locations including Colt Firearms as well as the Bloomfield Spur off to the northwest of the city.

Please feel free to explore our 'baby' at the link below. Thanx so much for your interest and we're sorry about the confusion...

LOL... Not a problem... in fact I hadn't noticed. I was just hoping to clear up Eric's confusion.
As I mentioned to Michael, I've been half expecting someone to get us (VNHRR & NYC/NH) mixed up since the DTG announcement.

I'm very much looking forward to the NYC/NH release. I didn't ride line very often (occasional Christmas trip into the city), but frequently ran along side it on I-95. So I'm really looking forward to see how close they come to the real world.

I see the magic word "new haven" is confusing people a bit. Or we just dreaming of running under some wires in VNHRR? :-)
Oh nevermind, i'd better go and finally buy these beautyful routes.

It's a bit of a long story, and the surviving evidence that I'm aware of is a bit tenuous, but apparently the New Haven originally intended to electrify up to Springfield as well as up to Boston. Many things prevented this from happening, as they also prevented the realignment of the western end of the Shore Line (roughly speaking, New Haven to Westerly). These would have resulted in a very different, but probably just as interesting railroad as the non-electrified Springfield Line currently being built.
