NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Maxwell GPU

Interesting development from NVidia in that these new video cards (GTX750 as well) do not need a supplemental power supply - they just plug straight into the PCIE slot on the motherboard. They are said to deliver high performance and greater power efficiency.
An interesting development - wonder how they will run TS2014?
The power needs are a paltry 55/60w so it could mean an end to huge PSU's and help with cost savings.

I was reading up on the GTX 750ti and it was interesting.
The game benchmarks are almost identical to a GTX 650ti, but the new 750ti uses only 60 watts while doing it.
It's also the first time Nvidia has started upgrading from the low end of the range.
I'm sure the high end Maxwell cards will still need six and eight pin connectors, but will generate far less heat and require less power to do the same work.

I would sure like to know what Nvidia's reasoning was, when they decided to go with 750ti instead of 850ti for the model number. It's bringing back the bad old confusing days, of performance vs card number.
Not to mention it's not a Keplar card.
