Are there still plans to update the Kuju 40 with these new sounds?

This pack in amazing. It sounds so much better than the default sounds. Thank you for your contribution. The only thing is the sounds are a bit quiet. I have an sd40 paired with an sw1500. Its hard yo hear the sd40. In real life the turbocharger sound would be running circles around the other. Other than that 11/10.

Also why is it that in notch one it still makes the idle sound?

Because in notch one there is enough juice coming off of the diesels at that idle rpm to get the locomotive rolling if it's light.

I think that's because on EMDs notch 1 only connects traction motors to alternator output without affecting rpm, similar to moving gear selector from "N" to "D"(rive) on automobile . is that correct?

That is correct, Over.
You'll note that a couple of them have a Low Idle, which will put it in a slower idle when in N0. Which even though, is incorrect, is a good placeholder for the feature without making a LUA script and ripping apart the SD40-2s for each railroad that had that to make it work off of the Reverser as in prototype.

I have a problem with a different flanging sound.
The sound of the wheels going around the curves is just unbearable. And it should be quieter in the cab but it is not. Is there anyway to get this quieter in the cab (along with the bogie clicks)?

In the pending update, the bogie/flange sounds have been reduced (we cannot figure out how to get cab occlusion to be any quieter). Just awaiting upload by Zane.

I'm not sure cab occlusion works at all anymore.
I've been doing tests, changing values and even deleting the cab occlusion file, and it hasn't changed anything.

Cab occlusion is weird. On some loco models the occlusion goes away when returning to the cab from outside camera views. If you are having issues then maybe something was changed for 2014. Maybe DTG will help you. Worth a shot though.

Anything that is scripted in lua isn't likely to survive a save/pause and resume/computer sleep as the scripts often aren't re-initialized properly on resume of the activity.

Also I have the impression the actual number of sound samples and the number of modifier chain effects applied to them simultaneously is limited as well, perhaps even game engine/DX-version/audio driver/hardware dependent.

Ah thanks for that.
For the time being I swapped the bogie sounds with the CHINA RWSO sound pack. Although I can only hear flanging and clicks outside.
Not sure what the problem with the cab occlusion is. I swapped the class 70 bogie sounds witht he same sound pack and I can hear flanging and clicks in the cab. !*don-know!*

EDIT: I am also having issues with the bell. I suspect though it is the audio problems with the game.
Some of the sounds also were recorded too loud and have clipping.
