It's probably too much to hope, but it would be nice if this became a true extension of the NEC, and existing NEC users were given a discount on the addition.

That would be amazing... we could finally lay up our trains at Sunnyside after terminating at NYC lol.. or even simulate a turn around with the loop track lol.
EDIT:
Also, the developers at railworks commented on the lack of catenary:
It is an early production image. We are still working on it.

Lol, that's the post office that sits above Penn Station, which was also already rendered in the original PHI-NYC portion of the NEC...

I have to agree, I went into Google Earth with 3d buildings enabled, and there is no way to get that view of the Empire State Building from Grand Central, but that does very closely match the view from the Farley Post Office building, which is next to Penn Station and soon will be a part of it.

Here's a Google Streetview, it's as close as I could get that I could figure out how to link: http://goo.gl/maps/KNxEa

Who knows, is there a chance that new rolling stock will be included? HHP8 and P32AC-DM would be nice addition to existing AEM7 and Acela

There's a new article on Engine Driver that seems to insinuate that both Penn and Grand Central, along with some new equipment will be included with the new route.

Anyone imagine what rolling stock will be included?
It would be nice if they included the HHP-8 or the ACS-64.

I think it will come with a Mitsubishi multiple unit, a New Haven p32 with push pull stock and either an ACS64 or HHP8.
I love American commuter trains so I'm really looking forward to this.

Yes, yes you do. This is an almost certain indication of Grand Central, and metro north equipment.

More like an AEM-7, with amfleet cars, and everything else as DLC.
