Yup, they were bouncing around CSX for awhile. CN sure is taking their time with those IC, BCOL, BLE, and EJ&E units while WC and DMIR are almost completely gone.

Pretty epic shot, also on the subject of fallen flags, NREX has quite a few DMIR SD38-2's still along with LTEX here in Ohio. NREX has a lot of WC SD45's still and the Wheeling & Lake Erie has two WC painted SD40-2's so they aren't dead yet but those on the leasers are probably just there to rot and be used for parts.
I don't take a lot of rail pics, but I like the way this one turned out. This is a local out of Clinton TN. If I'm not mistaken, they go up the mountain near Onieda, TN every evening to get wood chip cars from a mining operation.

Finally Home by The Owen Perry, on Flickr Never would I have though that one day I'd find Wabash paint on the Wabash, whats even more rare is that it's on the 5th District which is basically a light branchline nowadays. The extent of my railfanning is courtesy of Amtrak's timetable and my smart phone. This was taken in late august in Boynton Beach, FL. This was the Southbound Silver Star somehow ontime speeding through at about 65mph.

Yes that is me, and yes that is the UP Southern Pacific heritage unit. On June 2, 2012, Rochelle Railroad Days (Rochelle, Illinois) welcomed this SD70ACe to do a start up, shut down, and horn display for visitors during the weekend. And me and a few others got to take a cool cab tour. I suppose you could almost call it private. Here is the video link:
My first heritage unit was caught at night (Oregon, Illinois). Classic move on BNSF to send heritage units through during the night hours. February 2, 2013. This train was headed west with NS 1072 (IT) leading an empty oil train headed for North Dakota. Originally I was told I couldn't go see it by my father, but while we had pizza delivered to us, I saw on ATCS monitor that it would be stuck in the siding at Oregon for 3 trains. I live with the siding practically out my window (it's a 2 mile distance over a shallow valley so I can see the tracks and everything that passes. But it was dark). My dad agreed to let me go. It was cold.
Summer of 2013 saw me up in the Wisconsin Dells (Wisconsin Dells, WI (obviously)) for the weekend at the KOA Campground. We had a cabin rental (more like a tiny bunk house) with a front door facing the CP Wisconsin Sub. It was pretty awesome. I woke up on June 11th and went out and filmed some trains. This was a CEFX 1050 at the point with CN 5767 trailing. This day has been the only day in about 5 years that I've gotten a photo of a CN unit, and the first time in my life (as far as I can recall) that I've seen a BC Rail unit as well. I love CP units though, so it was weird going there and seeing litterally almost every other class one. The only 2 I hadn't seen that day were UP and KCS. I saw BNSF (which I was honestly trying to escape from by heading up north (remember I'm from Illinois) but it had an Executive MAC so it was all good), NS with BC Rail, CEFX with CN, and CSX pair. And the Empire Builder. I don't have Amtrak in my area. Wish I did. Rockford is supposed to be getting it this year on the CN I believe, so I will do more local railfanning!!!

During my last trip to the USA, I was visiting a friend in Kansas City and we took a railfan trip out to Sugarcreek, MO. Due to some hold up at Argentine yard, trains where parked up out east of the city. Both the UP & BNSF sitting behind one another for hours. Here is a couple of shots I took. Enjoy.
