Nice picture. The black lines give a pleasing cartoon effect.

Be sure to read 'Operating the Engine Brake' instructions in the Equipment Section of the manual.
To be honest... after the adjustments were made, I also found it a bit difficult to adapt to.
Further adjustments were made after that, but I haven't had a chance to get caught up.
It's not the Lap Brake system that you are used to.

I've been using the engine brake more than the train brake and, in all-too-frequent extreme cases, I've also employed "British braking", by setting the brakes on one or more freight cars, especially a caboose, but any car will do. This may not be kosher, but it gets me through switching scenarios (especially my own) more easily.

Hi,

I just posted a new image to the blog. Basic trackwork for v2 is mostly complete now... while extending the mainline by factor 2, the amazing complexity of the tracks in and around Hartford will probably make the expansion most appealing to switching and wayfreight fans. !*brav*!

Cheers,
Michael

I sincerely appreciate your comment... but I was about due for a new laptop anyway. It's the the external drive I miss the most. A couple/three years of files were lost, but I was able to recover about 60 or 70% from the previous laptop. Fortunately Michael and I pass all of the VNHRR files back and forth and all of those were stored at Gmail. Phew.

In a nutshell... the only thing I had to recreate was the RDC4. A copy of that file hadn't been emailed to Michael.
Fortunately, as I was enjoying the holidays, I hadn't really started heavy work on the V2 Hartford leg.

Very nice, Bob. What did I see at the 1:46 mark - a self-powered caboose? !*roll-laugh*! Or was it a runaway? !*don-know!*
