Random ads Everywhere

Unread postby NSrailfan6130 » Thu Jan 30, 2014 3:58 pm

I don't know what happened but now when I get on Google chrome and get on Railworks America, a bunch of ads pop up in between forums and when i click on a forum a new tab opens saying i need java update or some other random junk like PC speed up and free video player and how I'm the 10,1000 visitor no joke.. I was wondering how to get rid of these obnoxious ads. !*don-know!*

You've got a virus. Try running the freeware version of Malwarebytes.

There are plugins/extensions which can do this as well.

Some people love Google Chrome, but for me personally I found it very invasive, but hey, each to their own likes/dislikes. I had a devil of a time trying to get rid of it. Did some searching on the internet and found I had to hack the registry in order to completely wipe it out. Good luck to you.

The reason it says Chrome is still running is because, even tho the browser is closed, that virus (on both your PC's I guess) is still running. You need stronger tools.

Malwarebytes is OK, this one kicks booty: http://www.superantispyware.com/

Now, what anti-virus are you running? It must not have a real time scanner if both your PC's are infected. I use Microsoft Security Essentials, it's free and works great: http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-se ... tials.aspx

Run CCleaner: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner it also has an uninstaller tool that will rid of Chrome if you still want to.

This will also uninstall anything: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uni ... nload.html

Don't renew Norton. Uninstall it and get MSE. I don't and won't pay for good protection that I can get free. *!!wink!!*
