Ok, so the trackbed proxyxml files need to be added to each route and named accordingly. Flange sounds would be the icing on the cake. I'd be more than happy to get it done. I can start right now and try to finish it up for Sunday. I don't mind at all. In fact, I just dumped my TS2014 install and restored a clean copy in preparation.

Would you have any issue with my moving all wav files into the WJ sounds folder and modifying the xmls to look there instead of scattering the wav files everywhere? This way, turning on WJ Sounds in the Object Filter would be the only thing required by the customer.

I had the perfect wheel sound in my folder originally, but if I remember correctly if you uncouple the cars and couple again, the perfect wheel sound is gone and won't come back until you exit the game. That's why there there. Check to confirm please.

Got it! Thanks. This should be much quicker since editing the XMLs won't be necessary. Mostly renames and possibly having to add the trackbed wavs to each DLC. We'll see. Starting on it now.

Does anyone know if the 'WJ Sounds' provider must be enabled in the Object Set Filter?

If you have V1 installed; no. If you have V2 installed; yes.

Just to be sure I am understanding properly - to get the full sound effects we need to modify every scenario to include WJ Sounds in the Object Set Filter for the scenario?

I usually open up the route from the "Build" console and turn on "Kuju>Railsimulator" & "Kuju>RailsimulatorUS" as well as "WJ Sounds." If that doesn't work, then edit the scenario the same. I've not had to edit a scenario individually though. Editing the route usually does the trick.

You'd be better off adding it to individual scenarios as the route files with get overwritten eventually and you will have to do it all again. Or your mod collection is going to grow and grow.

For all that are interested.

Walter and I chatted a good bit today and he was able to test my current build when he ran the batch file, all sounds for the DLC he owned worked fine. This points right back around to my soundcard being the issue. Even though it is supposedly a Creative Labs X-Fi chip, it is onboard. Perhaps it has some streaming issues. I ordered a new card. Once it comes in and I get it setup, I will test. If all is good, Release should be shortly thereafter.

Onboard versions of sound chips can be iffy. It depends a lot on how the board maker integrates the chips. I like Realtek for onboard, but I have an older Audigy ZS2 soundcard for my board. The Creative drivers were crap, so I found drivers by a guy called "Daniel_K" and they really made a difference. Not sure if he did a version for the X Fi's tho, but you may want to take a look. Either way a discrete card can't hurt.

I've been interested in installing these sounds by Krellnut but just never figured out how to install them. Seems like it should be easy, but I'm one of those that can't even get a reskin to work. I can fix your PC when you break it, tho. !!*ok*!!

If you can stand to sit tight for a few days, wait for the version we're finishing up. It is much, much better and much more realistic.

Walter informed me that he tested the sounds in a free Roam or Standard scenario and never in Quick Drive. I was testing in Quick Drive only. As soon as I setup a Standard scenario, all of the sounds worked as they should. Interesting.

So as it appears, RSC apparently does not like to draw track sounds from the old Kuju folder while in Quick Drive. Whether intentional or not, you gotta love it!

RSC doesn't want track sound pulled out of Kuju? We can accommodate that. I'm in the process of rewriting all of the proxyxml file paths and moving Walter's sounds out of the Kuju folder and into his WJ Sound folder. The proxyxml files will point there instead. I will be continuing to test and will keep you all updated. We're close. Very close!
