Thanks for the heads up on the ES44BNSFPack01 folder. Not sure what happened there, but I have fixed it and re-uploaded the file. I'm not familiar with the location of the switch and bridge rumble sounds, but I was considering digging into them and replacing them as well with more realistic sounds.

Not sure but I seem to remember that they are in Kuju Railsimulator or in the Railsimulatorcore file. They are not in the US folder if memory serves.

The Surfliner route is packaged in a single .ap file that resides in RSC/PacificSurfliner. There are 10 different freight car models included, so your proxyml pack should be most welcome.
(But perhaps not to the wealthy residents living next to the tracks?)

I haven't looked over the file structure inside that .ap yet and wether the filenames are the familiar ones. You'd better check yourself later.

Ok, I cracked the surfliner ap file open and sure enough, there are freight wagons in there. Sorry fellas, that is what I get for reading their Steam page and believing what I read. There was no mention of freight on the Surfliner route Steam page.

So, I've updated the file and re-uploaded it again. You will want to download this latest one from the link above. This is why I pushed this out as a beta. This should be it unless anyone comes across any issues. I'll give it a few days and if things are stable, I'll upload it to the file library for safe keeping.

I was about to start !*hp*! because the sounds wouldn't work for me. This fixes it *!!thnx!!* .

Thank you.
I have my TS 2014 installed on a drive other than C: so the installer wouldn't work for me. However copying in a single folder was a heck of a lot easier!

Having preinstalled sound files might not help new DLC installs. The sound proxy and bin files with the same names would be overwritten in that case.
It might come down to whether or not a DLC package has the new .ap file system.
New build. i7-7700k, MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Mobo, Hyper 212 Evo, Corsair DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM, Klipsch Pro Mediea 2.1 Speakers, Samsung 850 Evo SSD, HAF XM Case, Asus Strix GTX 1070 and Cooler Master Storm XT Keyboard.
Slick with Pretty Rainbow Colors.

For the older content yes. For newer content that has an ap file, the *.bin files would be left alone. Either way, just run the batch file again after any US content purchase and you should be good to go. !!*ok*!!

Prior to uploading this to the file library, I will include a tutorial on how to add a folder and *bin files for newer content that is released. Either that, or I will have to upload a new package every time a new piece of freight is bundled with DLC, which could get messy in the library in terms of people not knowing which file to download.

I see you are from New Orleans. I grew up in Terrytown and moved to Mandeville back in the 90's. We moved after Katrina though. I miss home and all of the train spotting out at Avondale Garden Road and Central Avenue. When I was a kid, there were so many Class 1 RR's to see in New Orleans.....KCS, IC, UP, SP, MP, etc. I have been eyeballing doing the UP Lavonia sub for some time. Even have the dem data already downloaded, but ran into an issue when importing it into the sim. With the gov't shutdown and the subsequent shutdown of the USGS server, I' was not able to pull new DEM data to see if the ones I have are corrupted.

Anyway, do you still train spot down there? And if so, would you be willing to send me some photos from the Lavonia sub between Avondale and Lavonia if you ever go out that way to train spot? I have no clue how to use the route editor in TS2014 but planned on diving in soon.

You did one great job, I was always wondering why there were some gaps of sound when my freight train was rolling by. I talked to Walter to clarify this and he said that it could be a problem of my sound device. But it sure wasn't, now this should work correctly, will give this a go right away. Thank you for your work, I hope you will continue updating it. :)

I have seen these sounds in the library for a while and have only now took a stab at installing them.

Very impressive!

Thanks to Walter for the sounds and to Bananimal for the install tools etc.

Much appreciated!

Okay, I've figured it out now.
None of the read me's explain that you have to right click on the installer to open it and then modify the file path for a persons needs...
Like when Railworks is on drive F: ... !*hp*!

The software is fine, but badly needs some detailed instructions.

Hmmmm, I see a file called "Installation_ReadMe.pdf" in the "WagonFreightSoundPack v2 US DLC.zip" that clearly explains about editing the install batch file.

While your correct in saying I don't explain how to browse to your location, I do say in the read me;if the installer is not correct for the install path browse to your location. Actually, your the first person that's posted saying they didn't know to simply click on the installer to edit install path. Good you got it though.

While driving a scenario, I was amazed how the wagons sound like now. No gaps or total silence. I had to make a video, so here it is of how it sounds now. :)

That video is totally unrealistic to me because NOT EVERY CAR IN REAL LIFE HAS DEFECTIVE WHEELS. If you look in the Wagon Freight proxyxml you will see in each wheel speed paragraph a wav file named;
Rumble_1_0.wav
Rumble_2_0.wav
Rumble_3_0.wav
Rumble_4_0.wav
Rumble_5_0.wav

This is a silent file and its there to silence random cars as they go by, this is intentional. When combined with my perfect wheel sound which is always there, it makes those silent cars have perfect wheels. THAT'S REALISTIC.
But one can adjust how often defective wheels are heard as explained in my READ ME. Honestly though, if someone wants to change it to there liking, have at her. Set it up the way you like. I go for realism.
