Any thoughts on what's going wrong?

[Scheduler 8:29:37 AM] Trace cSchedulerModule.cpp : 679 = Set next mode 4
[Engine 8:29:37 AM] Trace cSchedulerModule.cpp : 529 = Change mode to 4 from 1
[Engine 8:29:37 AM] Trace cSchedulerModule.cpp : 536 = Mode time: 35991.878906ms
[Engine 8:29:51 AM] Trace DxCommon\cHcEffectDx.cpp : 134 = Creating effect TrainBumpSpecEnvMask.fx
[Scheduler 8:30:07 AM] Trace cTelemetryManager.cpp : 1314 = cTelemetryManager::cSendThread::sendPacket
[Scenario Manager 8:30:07 AM] Trace cCareerModel.cpp : 283 = cCareerModel::GetIntStat ( experience )

And this over in run time error:
ASSERT(mScenarioMap.find( scenario->getScenarioID() ) == mScenarioMap.end());

cScenarioDatabase::SerializeDatabase()

cScenarioDatabase.cpp : 1219

This is the only problem in your log.
You have two identical copies of a scenario.

This happens if you copy a scenario folder and copy it to another route's folder.
I'm guessing you installed the Scalerail version of Cajon Pass, this is the only case when it makes sense to do that.
I think Marc just published a new version of the route which solves this problem.
Make sure you delete the old version before installing the new one.

That keeps me from loading a completely different route?

I don't know. You haven't mentioned any specific route or scenario.
I can only go with what you posted.
Actually it could because the database has all routes and scenarios.

The problem with duplicate scenario GUIDs can now be solved easily by using this script.
