Can anyone out there load, run, or edit third party routes?

Unread postby dick8299 » Sat Sep 28, 2013 11:01 am

When I first installed TrainSimulator 2014, I was able to access my home made routes - once. Subsequent attempts to load, edit, or run a scenario in the routes has resulted in the program shutting down and returning me to my desktop.

Can any one out there run any one of these 3rd party routes?

BNSF Seattle Subdivision
C&O Allegheny
Cimarron Pacific
CSX Mainline
Durango and Silverton
Industrial Interactive Route
Moscow Camden and St Augustine
Northeastern PA Div
etc

Good Morning:

I am having the same problem, can't figure out why I am having problems, but it is a fun day.

I can load and edit the Cimarron & Pacific and the NERW route, the only two I've tried.

Have you been able to do it more than once. When I first installed 2014, I could open my routes once, but subsequent attempts failed.

I've got them all running. For me, the trick has been in the trackrules. The routes haven't been able to see them in; RailSimulatorUS, because of the new ap. file. Copy all the necessary folders from 2013, and paste in RailSimulatorUS folder, along with the ap. file. Worked for me.

I didn't need to do this. I wonder what the real cause is.

Good Morning:

I copied from a asset folder backup the track and trackrules folder to the new updated 2014 folder and tried to load the NREW route and no joy, back to the drawing board.

I happened to have IIR V4 handy so I installed it and all works OK. Can run scenarios, edit the route, edit scenarios - no problem. Not sure what might be happening for you. In my case I did a fresh install using TS2014 Utilities, Package Manager, Install. I wonder if the issue relates to 'carrying over' an older install into TS2014. Did you try clearing your blueprint cache?

Me, too. Could only run 6 routes. Removed TS2014. They downloaded it again. After that all of the default routes plus those that are in steam store worked including Ohio Steel, Portland Terminal and Colton & Northern. These three were purchased directly from Rich Garber and G-trax, but they still work. Tried NE-PA. No joy. Checked for missing files. Plenty missing even though I had unpacked the x.an files. Restored all missing files from a backup. No missing files. Still didn't work. Did same thing with Industrial Interactive Route. No joy. Deleted the route. Reinstalled route and scenarios. Still doesn't work. I am out of ideas. Used to delete blueprints when you installed new rwp files. Maybe it doesn't do that any more.

Somewhere there was a comment about turning filters on and off and then things worked correctly. Not sure what was meant by that.

Yes, so far no problems re-editing. Just did the Industrial Interactive route also.

I have no problems with the NERW, it is the first one I checked. I am making a scenario and I edited the route several times as there are a few strange things happening. One being there is no bell any more for the SMM crossing gates.

Now that I can use Logmate, I find that every time I load a scenario there is a crapload of error messages, some of them for missing blueprints.
It is possible that TS2014 is less forgiving than 2013 for some of these errors.

Anyway use Logmate, you may find the cause of your strange things happening.

Put my problem down in the 2014 thread but yesterday there were a bunch of gold stars next to the routes. Anybody have any idea what that was about? Today no gold stars no joy on any third party routes.

Yes, it is less forgiving. As I stated in another thread this is a good thing especially if people start uploading tons of routes and scenery.
