Yeah.... I have mixed feelings about it. It looks pretty, but I'm more of a fan of the straightforward interface of 2013's main menu. They should do what Microsoft did with Windows by offering you the option to use classic menus if people didn't like the new look.

Hack is right. It does have the simplified social media big icon-ny look. Apple kinda started us down this path with the user interface simplification of iOS. But I doubt it will be the worst thing in the world. We will just have to get used to it.

The new interface is exactly that, an interface. I really don't see myself, or anyone else for that matter, spending much time milling around the menu. We want to drive trains! *!lol!*

The consist builder is something that I am quite excited for, it is nice that it is actually built into the game unlike the one from MSTS which was a separate utility.

At 58 I like big buttons. And I wont be using it too much if I didnt like it, a few clicks and your in the train. No big deal either way.

Anybody gotten word if the new consist builder will work with non-steam, 3rd party rolling stock and engines? If it don't, that kinda sucks. !**conf**!

If it makes consist fragments then it should be able to use third party wagons.

why wouldnt it? im sure it reads .bin files just like the game engine, so unless they change the .bin file extention to something else seems like a silly question.

I noticed one of the new TS2014 features listed is geometry export. Anyone have any idea what this is?

Blueprint Editor to RW would be my guess, else additional plugin support for newer versions of 3DS Max.

Geometry Export is the tool that allows route builders to export the tile/track layout to a .OBJ file, so they can put it in say, MAX, and model in their station to fit exactly as it should, or to model berms or embankments to fit over the terrain.

Maybe a silly question to Railworks inner workings experts like yourself, but I ain't one of them and I'm not alone here in the noob-ish category. What I have learned about this sim is that, things you'd think would be simple....aren't. And things you would expect to work.....don't always....especially with 3rd party stuff. Be mindful of all that when people ask what you think is a "silly question".

I believe you're correct - I forgot about their mentioning this.

Yes that's it, I remember seeing an example of that in a previous screenshot. Thanks.
