There is so much American railroady goodness out there! Surf around, follow some links, and you'll see.

I'm only in my first week in RW and I'm having a ball. I've picked up a few items like the G-Trax GS-4 four pack and the two NKP Berkshires, the Challenger add on and a few others from the ongoing Steam store sale...all high grade stuff.

G-Trax' site also has nice freeware downloads like a set of lightweight passenger cars and scenarios to go with the GS-4s, very well done items.

The action is with the dedicated RW guys who do this on their own, though. I've made some purchases at Dick Cowen's Britkits and will certainly be back for more. Check out his WIP Shay video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ci9V5fdtMqs, and his Pacifics, Mikados and Mallets are available right now (EDIT-so are the Shays!!!). He also offers tons of useful freeware.

Michael Stephan's Golden Age of Railroading has lots of awesome DLC, much of it freeware, and the quality of it and his payware is excellent.

I downloaded the neat MC&SA route from RWA along with the Industrial Interactive Route, lots of fun in their default versions, but the additional scenarios really shine.

I just finished assembling the free- and payware needed for Michael's Penn Central Foundry Service switching scenario for the IIR and it's a hoot, miles of grimy industrial park to do switching chores in your PC SW 1200. I hate to think about the time, money and space this would take up in HO but a few hours' work and a few bucks' outlay and I've got a most impressive switching layout to play with !!*ok*!!

You got that right. I love the freeware that people offer but I also love the payware that is available. Most of it is very reasonable and besides I built my PC to play games on. If you think of the time you spend playing vs the cost then it is very low. If you don't think so then go to BASS PRO SHOP and take up fishing and hunting. Or go price out a new NIKON and a few lenses to go with it.

Another good way to spend lots of money is flight simming! The prices of payware add-ons for the various train sims are considerably lower than payware for FS while appearing to all be very high quality.

‘ Morning all,
Here’s another newbe to this forum saying hello!
I’m a long-time player of MSTS & have just bought RW2 – blimey what a difference!
Although based in little ol’ England, have always enjoyed my trips over the pond, so play USA as well as UK Activities & Scenarios to remind me of those long lost days.
