Does it actually interact with the game or is it just for keeping track of movements during sessions?

How do you do that? Keep track of movements on a jpg?

And then what put push pins in the picture?

You guys are trying to do things that are pretty dern hard with what you have to work with. In my opinion to make something that was a little authentic you would have to make several scenarios, with each person who was going to play to have their own scenario. Each scenario would have the player train and an AI set up for the other players. You would make the AIs start where that player will be starting and do whatever he was supposed to be doing, assuming and A to B run. Then even though the other player would not be driving the AI, it could seem like he was. So if you have 5 people playing, you need 5 scenarios with 5 AIs and a player train. eh?

I see what you are getting at, but if we use the Artificial Intelligence the player would have to leave at the same time as the A.I. and gain the same amount of speed as the A.I. at the same time and also brake at the same time as the A.I. does, or a problem will rise with locations.

Plus if we use the NERW route, the one crossing in Wade has a problem with the Semi-Truck hanging over Track 1 and can be "Hit" making the train stop for realism, where an A.I would just keep going.

Not to mention if Nate derails again, his A.I. would keep going leaving out the aspect of his train being on the ground as he could just ignore the fact he's on the ground. If he derails and ends up on both tracks, everyone ends early for it depending on where he's at.

He should be starting the same time as the AI no?

You could but a stop at by the truck at Wade.

If he derails another NERW train the vLEU boss will be giving him cement overshoes.

Anyway, I think this could be done and the challenge would be to drive like the AI. Just trying to give you guys some ideas.

I understand, but using A.I's would be a challenge as so many variables can happen that wouldn't occur for the A.I.

We will have to try this method one day.

Those push pins are the signals, every train that calls out the signals I change them from green to red. 2nd of all, this is not made for ai, but it can be used for learning curve knowing how dispatcher works with the ctc. 3rd of all, its used under excel, I add shapes and sizes and move them around. Anywhere I please.

Bob if this were jpeg everything would be a mess, but using excel make everything a lot easier. What sucks tho it doesn't really interact within the simulator I wish it would but idk if that will work.

Not to mention the loss of my cargo in that truck. *!twisted!*

Now I understand you would want some monkey wrenches thrown in to change things up. That can't happen. Who's going to put their train in the dirt? I don't want to be on the same rails as that guy just to throw a wrench in.

What are the skill levels of the guys you plan on doing this with? It must be close to prototypical. The AI should work just fine under a normal operating day. Now if you want to get crazy and throw monkey wrenches in, why not? The AI would have to be timed for each players scenario. A 10 AI 1 hour scenario can take 20 to 30 hours for me to get moves down perfect after all of the testing.

Great idea and I like it, but the set up..............

Well you actually only need one complete and tested, then you clone it a few times and change player train to ai and an ai to player train.

Yea but you know me, still gotta check the clones.

I'm not a multiplayer fan for Train Sim, but all other games, yes. This idea might be right on track though.

If anybody takes a real initiative on this feel free to give me a holler. No time for talk and no action. !*salute*!

There's no AI because, it would be impossible to get the AI trains to match the other players even closely. We just pretend we see each other passing. It's make-believe, yes. But it's still a fun challenge! We had a little Mexican stand-off on the Ann Arbor the other night. That was like the three stooges... !*lho*!
