I want to add my **!!2cents!!** for the "why bother to say anything until you have something to say" camp. Why bother to announce what amounts to nothing and then say you need to wait a week to get details. Human nature being what it is you just know what is going to happen. Pity I cant find a smilie yawning with dis-interest.

I for one have absolutely zero, none, not a bit of interest in the routes listed, so if it means having to shell out $ to get the update, well, its not going to happen for me. I get little enough time to enjoy it as it is, I am certainly not interested in paying for routes that will never even get a start, like 80% of the ones I already own. I bought Portland Terminal the other day solely because some of the assets are being used in the wonderful Bauer Logging revamp, but it will never get a start in its own right. I will just sit and wait and hope that this doesn't impact technically on the period New Haven route from Michael Stephen or the superb Brauer or indeed Tori's expanded COA Beta 5; all in the pipeline

!*cheers*!

I love how they've announced nothing about the actual game other than what its called and what routes come with it and people are already condemning it as a flop. People are impossible anymore *!rolleyes!*

The pre-release is par for the course and meant to drum up a bit of excitement leading up to the actual reveal on the 30th. It's a standard business practice.

But anyhow, from their release it says "If you already own these routes, they will be upgraded to include TS2014 technology on release".

They've also stated in the comments section on their Facebook page, that much like the past the core engine upgrade will be free.
As in, you will log in one day and your Steam install of TS2013 will now be TS2014 without spending a dime. You simply will not have the routes (unless you already own them) in the new bundle.

So lets settle down for a bit and hold off on the pitchforks until they actually announce something worth being irritated over (or possibly excited) over.

Right now, we have no information about the new features or how they will do the pricing bundles or upgrades (outside of the a freebie DBAG 424 for pre-ordering Hamburg, which is slightly different approach to the pre-order discount they did with Munich and 2012).

Funny you mention DDs. DD locomotives....EMD DD35's and the DDA40X have a hole in the middle (pass-thru) like a donut. So we could call them EMD's Dunkin' Donut model locomotives. !*roll-laugh*!

As for the 2014 upgrade? MY priorities in number order....

#1 PHYSICS IMPROVEMENTS!

#2
Draw distance improvements

#3
TRUE multiplayer

#4
A 64-bit version so more scenery can be pre-loaded into all those extra gigabytes of memory I have sitting unused.

I Believe the main reason NoBody wants The better scenery and Graphics, Like me, Is that their PC isn't powerful enough to run the game
For example When TS2012 came out my 5 year old ASUS UL80VT could run the game perfectly, but as soon as the MPE@N#WJr54eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed (my cat stepped on my keyboard)
Anyways, As soon as the Marias Pass came out,and i bought it, my laptop has been unable to even run a scenario above 2 FPS, Mainly becasue of the detail, But what I don't understand is that the issue happened in all routes, but understanding that is for another Day

Back to the point, The Increased Graphics, Means You need a More Powerful PC to render it all, something a large amount of us Train Sim Users May not have.

But you see... graphics progress forward. That's been the case since computers were brought to the masses. You can still play a game in TSX-OFF mode for better framerates at the expense of the latest graphics............OR..... that's what the graphics sliders are for so that YOU can choose what priorities you want while maintaining a decent framerate.

But you can't expect RSC to hold back progress just to cater to people with old computers. The graphics modes and sliders are their way of meeting you halfway! !!*ok*!!

I can't wait for the new version. I think these people on the developement team do a fine job.
This simulator can offer countless hours of enjoyment no matter what your interest are, operating switchers or hauling long freights desinging your own route.Adding details to your favorite route.
We all had complaints about Trainz when they came out with new versions until everyone figured out how to work the new upgraded one and then the forums would calm down again.
Just enjoy this game and have fun. Also I would like to say thanks to all of you content creators for al of your hard work and fine products you share with all of us, ( For Free).
And all the great problem solvers that help out us Greenhorns.

Thanks,
Bob.

My priorities are

1) Improved AI and Dispatch, which would include Dispatch on Dark Territories
2) utilization of 64-bit version.
3) True Multiplayer
4) Physics improvement.

I put physics last because I honestly don't know how a train is supposed to act in this or that situation, so honestly I couldn't tell the difference between inaccurate physics and real world physics.
