Unread postby hobotrain » Sun May 19, 2013 3:51 pm

Rsc has made several routes of bnsf and up routes ,but why not for csx ,ns or metro. these routes i would pay for cause they are things i want to drive. also some of the csx engines would be nice

I THINK it is because it's pretty hard or to much money to get a CSX license so they can distribute payware locomotives using the CSX logo. As for NS, we can probably expect an NS route in the next year or so. This is just speculation though.

CSX doesn't issue or makes it basically impossible to obtain licenses to use their name and logo(s). There are people who have reportedly been issued cease and desist orders just for contacting CSX multiple times about a license.

And that's why we draw and make fonts of it. !**duh*!! Who needs a "logo" when anybody can type "CSX" with Lubalin Graph font?

What annoys me is that they have a licensing request form on their website. 6 weeks and still no answer.

I contacted before. I almost did, almost used the named Chessie System. Changed my mind and I was done with them. Becareful, using CSX in different you may violate their trademark. Just sayin.

This is coming soon if you wanted a sim with CSX routes, but I do agree, they need to make more eastern roads. And what I don't understand is why they're practically spamming the US fans with all of this UK stuff and they're not even hinting at a new route release. Thus, I think it will be at least until September (AGAIN) until they release anything new.

I have no clue why you're even surprised. You know very well that it's true. That is all they have done since the release of Marias Pass, rendering any comments moot.

Not sure what happened to my post, but there was a picture with it which doesn't seem to have survived (I thought it was rather good *!!wink!!* ). I suspect the thread fairies have been in action... ! !*don-know!*

I'm only here at the moment because I've worn out my right-hand mouse button, as it happens, which makes things rather frustrating from my point of view! **!!bang!!**

If you want to blame anyone for the lack of updates from a US-route point of view then I'm more than happy for you to blame me. There can only be a route update from RSC when there's a route to update you with, and like I said my mouse is knackered. Tomorrow night is Rush at the O2 !*drool*! !*YAAA*! , which I've been looking forward to for almost 12 months now, so there's another delay.

Sorry. Just spent so long watching YouTube clips and have no idea what the topic is. !**duh*!!

You have to send them and email, they'll let you talk to a lady who is in charge of this license agreement. If you do a free downloads, you don't have to pay for it. If you do payware yea you got to pay. I think its a 2 year contract, maybe more. Yes I did contact CSX before. I had quite an experience when I first made Chessie System Big Boy for rw. So I talked to my sis and my mom. Both said no, the company can control you, however they want. They own it. Technically they're absolutely right. But I'm not sure ho it will work for you guys.
